I bought this to make Christmas cards and at first I was hesitant to especially this close to Christmas with the mixed reviews. All I can say is I wasn't disappointed. It's super easy to use coming from someone who hasn't used linocut in years. You can tell the seller really cares about presentation and quality. Easy to you, good products and came with everything you'll need minus the paint. I love the addition of an eraser and tracing paper! It's the little things.

I bought this as a very low risk investment into a new hobby, one that I've now turned into a small business (check out melancholycolors on etsy lol)! This kit is pretty basic, and you may want to get more linoleum, but the tools will work while you're still figuring out if you like the hobby or not. I would recommend, though, if you end up if you end up sticking with it and plan to continue long-term, to immediately start planning to purchase some higher-end tools. I recommend flexcut, which can be very expensive compared to these ($50-$200 depending on the set. I recommend the micros), but are much better for small details and are made to be relatively easy to sharpen.But regardless of the cheapness, I made some of my absolute favorite stamps and a couple prints with this kit, many of which I still sell because they turned out great! If you have the patience to carve carefully, these will work great for many carvings before they start to get dull. Just don't plan on doing super detailed pieces with any tools on the super affordable side, it's just too easy to make a mistake because the tools aren't small enough and you end up very bummed out.

If you are just starting out making a custom stamp for the first time this was pretty easy to use. I had to practice learning what each tool did but figured it out right away. The rubber shaved away quickly so you didn't need to be extra strong to carve a stamp.

If you are thinking about getting speedball kit (unless your a brand shopper) don't. This set is really nice. You get a good beginner set for less I can't see a reason to get speedball over this except that speedball have different types of rollers (texture of soft and hard). I got this kit and bought a speedball soft roller. And still manage to spend less and now I have 2 different texture rollers

Overall, this kit is pretty good and has enough of the materials you need to get started. It does not come with an ink pad though so you will have to purchase separately. Instead of giving 30 pages of tracing paper it would have been nicer to have two more rubber blocks to carve. Also, one of the etching tools was really dull so I don't use it, but the other two were just enough to get me through my first designs. Not bad for the price point.
