My initial inspection of this XY stage was "OK" for the money. But as I continued to get ready to do the install, I realized just how bad this product really is. All 4 corners were dented to the point of removing anodization from the poor shipping materials. The linear bearings on the XY stages felt like they had sand in them and the micrometers were incredibly stiff. The initial two items could be tolerated but the stiff mics needed resolved so since this is my job I tore them apart. the first thing I noticed is that the manufacturer used a very very thick clear grease as a lubricant, almost as think as Vaseline. after servicing micrometers for 35 years I knew what was up, there threads are so sloppy they used this high viscosity fluid to fill up the slop in the threads. the one mic did appear new but the other was clearly used and so rusty it couldn't be disassembled. both micrometer heads were finally thrown out and replaced with starrett 1" travel analog mic heads. Would I purchase this product again, NOT IN A MILLION YEARS.
