adds a nice bit of security and piece of mind when my ryker is parked places i dont trust, only downside is that you can hear the lock rattling sometimes while going down the road. not a big problem just a pet peeve

So the product is great and yes the top bolt is pain and so is the install. Luckily for me I have a full shop with 100s of thousands in tools. The hardest part beside the bolt is the install. I was able to cut the the hole bigger to get to over the ebrake cable mount once in it was back to manually installing the top screw then with my special tools I was able to tighten it

This problem with this is not the products fault. The product itself is nice. Great textured surface and would look great if you could actually install it without tearing apart your world. The issue is the top bolt. The design of the Ryker (not the product) make this nearly impossible to get to without violating the space-time continuum and several other laws of physics. What I found is that same as what others have found; pull out the lock (or just buy the lock alone) and install it into the existing plastic as it will save your sanity and whole bunch of hours of frustration.

I bought this and everything was advertised. However, an issue came when I started to replace the lock cover with the one that came with the lock and keys. I got the bottom screw out, but the top inner screw you won't get to since it's under the frame of the Ryker 900 Sport. So I went to slingmods.com and I slapped myself after they showed that you only have to drill where the lock would be. So 45 mins vs 2 mins, you do the math! So unfortunately the cover that comes with the lock and keys is useless. Hope this helps any Ryker riders out here wanting to protect their bikes...

I never actually used the guard itself. I did the drill method and just used the lock. The lock is super smooth. I guess you could just buy the lock but I didn't want garbage and wanted the base in case I messed us drilling. Definitaley use the step drill. Watch youtube videos -- all of them to get tips. Easy to install. Wouldnt recommend undoing the top bolt.

The quality of the product is good, but the installation instructions are poor and there isn’t much space to work. They should help us a little bit more with some tricks.
