Just the right size for the brackets I use. I don't use the hardware that comes with the rod. If anyone else hates measuring, and I do, there's a great alternative to having to deal with the time consuming task of putting up the metal brackets. There are clear heavy duty stick on brackets with springs that eliminate all that hardware. Just type in screwless rod brackets in the search bar. Best invention since sliced bread! I have used these outside as well to hold my flower baskets and wind chimes! The 1/2 inch rod fits perfectly and looks really nice in the kitchen and bedroom. Highly recommend. The name of the brackets to look for is DRILLESS ROD BRACKETS and you get at least 6 to 8 , possibly 10 for less than $10. Very affordable and way easier to use.

As far as inexpensive curtain rods go, these actually install pretty straight and sturdy for a skinny rod. They are a bit thin looking but they are doing the trick and look better than any cheaper versions I’ve tried in the past that would sag under the weight of the curtain. Don’t over extend them and choose your curtain wisely, currently using black out panels and they are holding up good. Worth the money you pay.

Beautiful brass color. It does get very flimsy when extended, even with extremely lightweight curtains. I’d recommend using this curtain rod for very light curtains and do not fully extend.

This rod bows in the middle, it's really thin. I didn't buy multiple panels, just two, but they are velvet. I would not recommend this rod for anything but light linen or sheer curtains. It's definitely not for anything even a little heavy.

Proper length and width, sturdy, and attractive. Note that I didn't use the brackets, as I simply needed to replace the overly-long rod which the previous owner of my place had left behind, and I left the existing brackets in place, but the ones included look to be of good quality too.
