Nice lock for a server in a small office. We needed something to protect our server and the monitor just for piece of mind. This fits the bill and is very easy to install. I still believe that if someone wanted to steal the server, it would be very easy with a bolt cutter. However, this removes the risk of a casual thief picking it up and removing it.

Kensington Desktop and Peripherals Locking Kit, Master Keyed on Demand (K64665US)I am going to #DHATX17. While DreamHack has very good security for the BYOC area. I also wanted to lockdown my system a little more to prevent any possible snag and grabs. The quality of this lock is on par for what I need to prevent any simple theft. I can see where the use of this lock can be good in a lot of public and even private uses. This would be a good solution as a part of your security and theft prevention needs.

Easy to assemble to the back of the equipment. The cable is quite stiff, so if you have a confined space, you will need extra patience and ingenuity to get the cable to stay where you want it to stay.

I tried ordering it three times, and despite the product description claiming otherwise, there are NO KEYS WITH IT. This is part # K64665US and is not even listed on the Kensington web site.The Kensington web site shows part # K64615US for this set and it is available on Amazon (I am assuming with keys, will update if otherwise).

The reason I gave it only three stars was the result of the top anchor plate (used in lieu of a Kensington lacking on my multifunction printer) popped off the the attached sticky pad and the setup was a little pricey given the product flaw. Got me wondering if the other plastic pads I'm using are suspect. A quick tug suggests that they are--but I wouldn't count on it.

The problem is the end loops around a table or desk leg. If you can lift the table or desk corner, you can slide the cable off and take the whole system. This is fine if your table or desk is bolted to the floor, but I have not seen many desks that are.I would not recommend unless you can loop it around a "bolted down" leg of a desk or bar.With more adhesive and an extra anchor you may be able to glue the loop-end of the cable down to a desktop for a measure of security.

This kit locks up my setup at school, consisting of a desktop, monitor, UPS system and a laptop. This was the only kit that gave me the means to lock it all with one cable and it does the job perfectly.

This product would slow down a smash and grab thief or may stop them in certain situations. It will not stop a determined thief. The idea here is to slow someone down, limiting the quantity if items that can be stolen. For that purpose it performs well.
