I have a spooky horse that has pulled the tie off the trailer, a trailer that was not even mine mind you. I decided to get this for my spooky boy. It works he has pulled on it to graze and it has released but that's okay because I'd rather him wander a few feet than have him hog tied and down on the ground or worse. (which has happened to one of the horses in the barn while tied on a low tie ring) I use 12ft yacht rope or clinician lead with this and it works fine. This will be a god send in winter, as we use tarps to cover the hay and said tarps tend to flap. I think I'm going to buy more

It helped me with my gelding that pulled back at the trailer. I don’t have to replace the trailer ties anymore. The trailer ties keep everything safe and is easy to train with.

I suppose it works for some horses. Mine is high energy and loves to play games. Once he figured out how to give a quick tug to release it he kept unlatching himself. Luckily he is not one to run away. He just likes to pop it open over and over again then looks for me to rehook it so he can open it again,

I use these between the wall and the rope for my cross ties and JUST yesterday this saved my horse from possible injury. He was standing in the cross ties when my saddle fall of the rack next to him. He was startled and jumped hard to one side and the cross tie at this device broke free and allowed him to get out of the way without injury but the other side stayed connected since he did not pull on that side. I also use these in my trailer while traveling but not in areas where braking free could cause more harm like when tied outside. Would highly recommend

This works nice on my trailer when tying up the horses. It seems a little flimsy though and pulls apart easily. I would still use this.

This doesn't break away at the correct weight. I attached it as a single tie for tacking up, and my pony stretched down to check for snacks on the floor, and it broke away. I reattached it, and kept grooming. I went to brush her face and she lifted her head, and it broke away. This thing breaks away too easily.I did fix it by duct taping the thing closed. That way I still had a breaking point in there, but at an unknown weight.I'd rather just have bailing twine instead. I know that a loop of bailing twine is going to break in a panic, and not let my horse go all the time!! If you trim it and make the loop small, it doesn't look as stupid as your horse running down the aisle with crossties flopping along!!
