The cable I received is not wired correctly as a parallel printer cable.This cable wires pins 1-25 of the DB25 connector to pins 1-25 of the Centronics connector. This misses some of the defined signals, including FAULT and INPUT PRIME. Worse, it shorts out pin 18, which is a +5V supply pin from the printer on many popular printers. This prevents my printer from turning on with the cable connected to a standard printer port, and could easily damage the printer's power supply.
