This innovative wheel feature a gear shaft driven counter placed above the wheel. This results in a better balanced wheel. The counter reset on the handle and on the unit housing means no more bending over, lifting the wheel, or stepping on it to reset it to zero. The brake on the pistol grip stops counting instantly. A collapsing hings snaps the wheel into the extended position with the flick of the wrist and it disconnects, rather than breaks, if you forget to press the unlock trigger.

I use this measure wheel a little differently than most people. I had major “360†back surgery 14 months ago, and since then I’ve been doing physical therapy to strengthen my back muscles. It’s been very difficult to be able to walk any distance without my back spasming. I first used a walker, then a cane, but gait was always off with the cane. After a recent trip, going the the airport, using my suitcase to steady me as I walked I was able to keep up and not get fatigued because the luggage on the rollers helped me with just enough balance. I had thought maybe I could put a wheel on my cane, but then I thought of a measure wheel and it works perfectly for my purpose, and the added plus of knowing how many feet I’ve walked is great! It’s very accurate and easy to use, lightweight and it has a brake that stops on the mark!

Accurate measurements are crucial to my business and this tool is top of the line. The construction is solid, the features are better than any other product, and the slightly higher price is justified.The ONLY drawback is its size - it still fits in my carry-on but is slightly bulkier than expected. This is just an observation not a complaint.

So this is a secondary review… I’ve been using it for over a week now... This product has poor accuracy.... When measuring the same links four or five times… The measuring wheel reads different readings every time. And not by a little.. a lot. I measured the same 30 ft distance on a smooth dry surface and the reading varied every time ranging from 12ft to 36ft.... this can be a costly mistake in my field as an appraiser. The wheel seems to be well built but it’s lack in accuracy has cost me valuable time and money.

First, let me say that I really like the form factor, design, comfort and features of this measuring wheel. However, the accuracy is terrible and forces me to return this item. I laid out a 100ft tape measure and then rolled this measuring wheel alongside the tape about 10 times, resetting the counter for each measurement. Each time the results were somewhere between 6 to 12 inches too high. Apart from the distance always being too high, the inconsistency with a 6 inch spread of results is even worse. Come on Keson ... YOU HAD ONE JOB!I also purchased the Digi 1st W-160 8-Inch Measuring Wheel (B01JC5THMK) and I initially expected to be returning this wheel and keeping the Kreson. The same 10 measuring tests on the Digi 1st wheel resulted in only a 1 inch spread of results over a 100 foot run. Sometimes high, sometimes low sometimes dead on, but never more than 1 inch off in the results which is entirely acceptable and expected. Keeping the Digi 1st and returning the Keson.

This is just a little clunky and so light I worry about durability, but if it dies I will immediately order another. This replaces my first telescoping measures and is a step up. I like the larger more accurate wheel, that I can drag it rather than push, and the pistol grip with brake and reset. However, it can't be hung from a belt because it hangs off-center, unlike a telescoping design. This means more in my hands - camera, file, pencil and if the phone rings I have to put it down (which is how I lost my last one).

This is the first Keson product that I have used or owned. I have used Rolatape & other brands over the past 25 years. After using this Keson wheel for about 2 months, I wish that I had bought this wheel years ago! Works great! Accurate, comfortable to use, lightweight yet solid. I love the handle & the reset on the handle. The 6" wheel is great for rough and uneven surfaces. Can't find a thing about it that I don't like & I use it every day.

Not to be confused with a surveying instrument-no wheeled device is that accurate. This will get you "close enough" for everything but the nastiest property line dust up. If you need accuracy beyond + or - 6", you need a professional.Fully assembled, and quality built. Perfect for estimated measurements of moderate distances. The brake prevents overshooting your mark, and you can reset the counter from the handle.The wheel has enough traction for smooth tarmac, rocky, and even grassy surfaces without skipping. When you're done, it folds in half so you can carry it in your Ferrari.
