Great highlight bloom without introducing weird colors. Recommend.

I'd wager that if you're looking at these filters for your x100 camera it's probably because you, like me, enjoy the film sims and want the softer feel to the photos (you know you've seen the videos talking about these like I have), and look there are a TON of options out there. Cinebloom, black mist, white mist, haze, whatever. The list goes on.At this point, I now have a 1/8 black mist, a glimmer glass and now the 1/4 black mist and here are my thoughts:The 1/8 version is very, very subtle to the point that it's barely noticeable unless you're looking for it or you've got a specific situation. The glimmer is the same for me as the black mist in terms of subtlety (same strength). The 1/4 strength black mist (this K&F one) is the one that tends to be on my camera the most of the three, though. The build quality is excellent, and it doesn't interfere with the focusing of the lens - IF you have a lens adapter. PLEASE NOTE that you will 100% need an adapter with these if you're putting them on the x100 line of cameras or you risk damaging your lens. If you've got the adapter, though, then no issue - it allows the lens to move fine and it focuses quickly. The 1/4 mist provides just enough character for my personal taste without making every single light bloom too exaggerated or every crisp line look like it was smudged with vaseline. It softens the sharpness just enough to take the digital character down a notch for those times when you want to fully enjoy the film simulations, and if you've never actually used a mist filter for things like light blooms and softening light sources then you'll be happy to know that this one does it well. These filters aren't something that I use all of the time, but for the times when I am after what they can provide they come in very handy, especially because it allows you (on your fuji cameras) to turn off the clarity setting and speed up your workflow when firing off shot after shot without delaying the processing power of the camera.I've used K&F filters alongside my more professional, "premium" filters for years and have never had an issue with them and this one is yet another one that does great in that regard. Whether you want the 1/8, the 1/4 (this) or even the 1/2 or more I think you'll find this filter to be worth the affordable price.

This is a good all-in-one filter. The good: The #1 item, this would weather seal the camera. The housing is built well, matches the aesthetic of the X100. The 1/4 Black diffusion creates nice halation around light sources. I have a stand alone 1/4 Black diffusion from K&F, but it seems a lot stronger than this one. This one be a good filter to leave on. The OE lens cap fits a bit snug, but it fits. And the optional square hood from K&F fits. The bad: The silver finish is a bit brighter, shinier than the Fujifilm finish. If you like to change filters, you are better off buying an adapter ring. You cannot filter stack, it would be nice to have threads for other filters. This was the same problem with the K&F UV filter adapter.Otherwise, it is good product for the price and is fit for everyday use.

K&F Concepts is one of my favorite lens protection/filter brands out there. When they began releasing direct-fit filters for the X100 series, I had to get it. This filter replaces the Tiffen-brand black mist filter that I had adapted to fit the X100VI using a series of step down filter rings and an adapter for the X100VI itself. It added a substantial amount of length to the end of the camera and it definitely did not look aesthetically pleasing. This K&F filter changes that. All you have to do is remove the thread protector from the lens and screw this on. It even looks OEM with the silver ring it came with. It's not a perfect match with the X100VI's silver, but it's close enough. As for the diffusion performance, I could not tell a difference between the Tiffen brand 1/4 mist filter and this one. They looked identical to me in my testing. Great filter!

K&F Concept has become one of my go-to brands for quality gear at affordable prices: this filter met all my high expectations. It’s solidly build with well cut threads, which make for smooth attachment and detachment. They make a few variations of on the black mist diffusion filters, with (if I’ve done my research properly) 18 multi-coating layers on the less expensive end and 28 layers (as on this one) on the premium end. While it’s certainly possible to experiment with home made diffusion filters—a couple classics being stretch panty hose over the lens or smear a light layer of petroleum jelly on a UV filter—I wanted to experiment with a commercial one. Two types one often sees mentioned are white mist and black mist. Based on comparative samples, I liked the look of the black mist variant more. They typically come in one of four strengths with the naming convention: 1/8 (weakest effect), 1/4, 1/2, and 1 (strongest effect)—interestingly, I’m given to understand that exactly how strong a 1/8, for example, is, depends on the manufacturer. Again, based on what I’ve seen of online samples, I thought either a 1/8 or 1/4 would be the most useful. Having now tried this one, at 1/4, I could see getting a 1/8 too, but rather doubt I’d ever use a 1/2.Note: this works on other camera lenses too: directly for those that take 55mm filters and with an adapter ring otherwise. I know, because I tried it!Disclosure: I received this product for “freeâ€â€”in quotes because the IRS requires I pay federal income tax on the retail value. This review is honest and uncensored by the seller.]

For me, best filter since it is slightly smaller than a similar looking Haoge version. This K&F filter is more low profile and adds a 1/4 diffusion filter which I love. The filter looks native to the camera.
