My kids are super curious and play with this all day long. Very sturdy design and shows good magnification for clear images of everyday objects to insects and plants. Highly recommend for any young age scientist or anyone with good curiosity. Would be a great birthday or holiday gift as well

OK, it's for the 6-12 range for science discovery..and it's a good price point so they can experiment...and mess up without damaging expensive optics.I think it invites activity and demystifies scientific equipment without fear (oh who hasn['t focused the wrong way when young and ran the lens right into the slide)one nice thing these days is a stage light? remember having to try to tweak that mirror to get good illumination? this generation won't ! and this one has it[While this was sent to me for review, I take that job seriously. Getting people the wrong product is wasteful, irresponsible and a hassle for everyone.Not everything I review gets high marks -- BTW, I live in a high sales tax state, review items aren't exactly at-no-cost for me]

This is a great gift for a child. The magnification and lighting on it are excellent. The included slides are really nice to have. It's pretty amazing what different things look like under a microscope, so you can get kids interested in science at a young age. I'm really happy with this purchase.

I gave this to my 5 year old and we’ve had so much fun inspecting outdoor treasures and just things around the house! It’s perfect for this age range because it’s not as fragile and heavy as a professional model would be but it’s still ideal for lessons and fun. The magnification is just what you need.

This was the perfect Christmas gift for our budding scientist! Even if this is a plastic toy microscope, it is very functional. It comes with magnifying lens, and also lights up so you can see more clearly. It comes with slides and specimen on them which is cool to look at. There are also extra slides to put your own specimen. Highly recommended!

Got this for a gift and it broke on the first use. It comes with a few accessories but they are all pretty useless at this point.
