I finished building the entire chest which took an hour then when I almost finish the hinges come apart and wouldn’t screw in , the screws would not hold , now I can not open or close the chest , this is horrible and I spent a lot of money on it ! But the great part is that the seller read my concern and wanted to make things right . He responded right away . Thank you for helping me with this problem

Update: Sturdis sent me a replacement part, and the box is back in business. They were very responsive and attentive!I've had this toybox for less than a year, and now one of the screws in the hinges has pulled out of the particleboard, making it's whole lid unusable. Enjoyed it a lot until then.

Lid was opened by 3 year old and broken Very Next Day. wood broke in pieces on lid and screws wood block popped off from inside back panel. VERY POOR Design on Lid Assembly.

Assembly wasn't difficult but it can be time consuming. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. The only part I had trouble with was installing the safety hinge - it was hard to tell which way is the correct orientation.The product itself looks cute, feels pretty sturdy, the seat cushion is adequately padded - wouldn't say it's the best. Our safety hinge hasn't failed like others have said but we haven't opened it too many times. My only complaint is with the edges of the panels - they are straight edges with a sharpe corner. I feel they could have done a better job for a children furniture. We had to add edge protector on it.
