After getting a replacement for my defective unit, I can give a fair review of this lightTop brand LED grow lights are insanely expensive. How is it possible, then, that a light like the 1000 watt King Plus sells for so much less?It must not be any good, right?Not quite.While it is true that this light can’t match the top brands, it still does surprisingly well and, considering the price, it may actually be a better value.This is great news. It means it is now possible to grow with LED light without spending a fortune. In fact, a light like this actually costs less than the equivalent HID system. This results in what is basically a 10 watt diode. As such, the light from this fixture will penetrate more deeply into the canopy than the light from a fixture using a single 5 watt chip and much more deeply than any 3 watt chip light.The PAR value in the center at 24 inches from the canopy is 447 umol. At one foot from center, the PAR value is 313 umol. At the corners 3 feet out, it is 91 umol. The core coverage area at 24 inches is 3 by 3 feet.If you move the light back to 30 inches from the canopy, you get a PAR value of 230 umol. The manufacturer calls this a 1000 watt light, which implies that it is equivalent to a 1000 watt HID system, like some of the top-brand 1000 watt lights.While only the best 1000 watt LED lights are actually equivalent, this one doesn’t even come close. It is basically equivalent to a 400 watt HID light. I hate when manufacturers use misleading names for their lights, but I suppose I can understand the reasoning. So many of the lower-cost (and even many of the big brands, like Kind LED), misrepresent what their lights are actually capable of and if you don’t, people will mistakenly believe your light is not as good.If you can look past that, you’re still getting a great light, as long as you are aware of its actual capabilities. It simply is not going to replace a 1000 watt HID light or come close to the top 1000 watt LEDs on the market. It is a 400 watt equivalent light. But as a 400 watt light, it’s a good one that sells for a very good price.Summary of King Plus 1000 Watt LED Grow Light Reviewking plus cooling systemShould you get this light?That depends. It is not going to come close to matching a real 1000 watt LED plant light. But it costs so little that you could get many of these for the price of one top-brand light.Let’s look at an example.Say you want to light a 10 by 10 foot area. Some of the best lights on the market are the Black Dog Phytomax-2 line of lights. Their 600 watt fixture (equivalent to 1000 watts HID, because they label their lights accurately) costs $1899 and covers a 5 by 5 foot area, so you’d need 4 of them to cover 10 by 10.Total cost to light the space with Black Dog lights: 4 x 1899 = $7596If you went with this King Plus 1000 watt horticultural light, you’d need a minimum of 9 lights to cover that area, but let’s just say 12 to be extra sure we have enough light. Each light usually sells for around $200 (though it can cost more, at times).Total cost to light the space with King lights: 12 x 200 = $2400As you can see, although you need far more lights, you still come out way ahead in terms of expense. That said, a Black Dog light is obviously constructed better, so the chances of getting a defective light are lower.Those chances aren’t high with King Plus either, but definitely higher than Black Dog. Yes, King give you a 3 year warranty and you can return any defective fixture, but you still lose time.Whether the cost savings are worth the potential loss of time, no matter how small the chance of it actually happening, is something you will have to decide for yourself. Personally, I tend to always go with the lower cost option, especially if there is a warranty.After reviewing the Kings Plus 1000 watt LED, I can definitely recommend it and all other lights in the series. But not as a 1000 watt light.As long as we agree

After a month of consistent use, I haven’t had an issue. My plants are growing fast. The straps and clips are functional and the hanging mechanism works great. It’s light weight enough to hang from a narrow bar above the enclosed tent. The temp stays consistent in my 2x2x4 tent (80F) with both the veg/bloom option on, and with just the veg option, temp remains 73F. I haven’t tried raising the light yet— there is a pulley, I just haven’t had to use it yet. I will soon since these little plants are growing fast! So far I’m delighted with my purchase.

We have purchased 2 lights and very happy with the the first light in 2024 and so happy we purchased a second one this Jan 2025. They are working and being used for 10-12 hrs a day and doing well. We have used them to start seeds for our Fall and Spring veggie gardens the last 2 years. for both veggies snd flowers. Easy to install and quality of light great. We plan to purchase a 3rd .

I continue to be a BIG fan of King LED. This larger grow like works perfect and it's longer, narrow design makes it much more versatile for different locations. A huge amount of light and very easy to hang. There is no timer on this like, but it does have both Veg and Bloom settings (like all lights from this brand). It shas a strong build quality and has been very durable. I highly recommend.

Bright as F#@$. With both backs on it draws 100 watts. I use it to start vegetables seedlings in the winter. So I only use the Veg side, which is more tuned to the light they need. With only the VEG side on it is 50 watts. Alien spacecraft also can use this to make people look up just before they beam them up. The fan makes a little noise, so best not to use in your Zoom work space. Solid feel.

This light works great. I’m not sure if it’s 1000 W, but it helps my plants grow fast.

have had 2 of them for nearly a year, have no issues whatsoever, For the price even if they quit now i would be satisfied. also run 2 1000w king plus -also no issues and now nearing 2 years. I have 3 from othe companies {dont know if i can name them { that are all garbage due to 1/3 of the lights burning out.Awesome customer servce. After well over a year some leds burned out and for shipping cost only new boards were promptly sent to me. Truely love this company and their lights-absolutely perfect for autos!

I grew these plants from seeds. That tent is 8 feet tall I had to bend the top of the big one in the back cuz it was already reaching the top of the light Plus the light is at the very top of the tent these plans grow huge under this light it’s hard to believe but the proof is here. Best value big bang for your buck.., I am unbelievably impressed with this product and I want more another one. 😛

great light so far no issues,have many King Plus led lights. 2 x 2000.2x8001 x 1600all good quality, stay away from the ufo versions prone to blowing out
