How did you come up with the idea for this product?
It began as a family effort to help make life easier for Mama Ola, because she was having a hard time in the kitchen with her arthritic hands. After brainstorming through many ideas such as ergonomic cutting boards and star-trek style utensils, we settled on a cordless electric can opener because that was the most difficult task for her.

As my mom is getting older, her arthritis has started to affect her hands, making it harder for her to open cans. She needed an automatic can opener, but she didn’t want something large or bulky that had to stay out on the counter or be mounted to a cabinet. After searching for a solution, I found this automatic can opener, and it has been perfect!It’s compact and easy to store when not in use, yet powerful enough to open cans with minimal effort. My mom can now open a can with ease, without straining her hands, and then simply tuck it away out of sight when she's done.I would rate this product a solid 10/10. It’s exactly what she needed—functional, small, and easy to use. Highly recommend it to anyone who needs a bit of extra help in the kitchen!

So easy to use and works great! Be patient, because this little can opener is working hard to open your can and it takes a little time, but well worth it, especially for the price! Leaves the edges of the can smooth without any sharp surfaces - a definite bonus! I liked it so much I bought this one for my daughter and her left handed daughter. No more struggles trying to use a can opener built for righties! I highly recommend this product - I’ll very satisfied!!!!

This product does open cans easily and hands free so it's much better than a manual can opener. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the magnet to lift off the cover stopped working after only a month of use and when the opener is running it's pretty loud. I still recommend this product if you're looking for an easy to use, hands free can opener.

I admit I was skeptical as I read the description on Amazon. But it was one of those cases where the idea about how it did the job seemed worth the risk.Cutting open a can by cutting from the side of the can, just under the rim, rather than the puncturing the top, almost sounded crazy! But it works! Perfectly! And I truly believe it's much safer.With most can openers, you must stand there holding the lever that controls how long it takes to cut out the lid! With this one, you simply drop it onto the can and BRIEFLY press the red button to get it started. For the next few seconds, you're free to do anything else.Instead of the can spinning around, this entire unit does the spinning around while the can doesn't even move. And while it's doing it's job, your hands and attention can be on something else.IF it takes a bit longer than your previous opener, it will only be a few seconds at most. And those seconds are yours to use as you see fit. When preparing food, every second is valuable!When the job is done, you simply lift the opener and put it away. Then you lift the lid by the rim. It comes off very easily with no mess on your fingers. Just drop the lid in the kitchen garbage can. No sharp edges anywhere!You may want to occasionally rinse off the opener but that's not necessary very often if at all. Certainly not to the extent that "old fashioned" electric openers must be cleaned often. I used to own/operate a childcare center--100+ kids. Making sure openers were clean was a biggie on state Inspectors' list!And that "put it away" part is even better than you think. Unlike most can openers that must take up counter space, not to mention an electric outlet, this one can easily fit in a drawer or cabinet out of sight.Note that it is battery powered--4 AA batteries. No wires to an electric outlet! I haven't had it long enough to have any idea how long the batteries will last. But I don't see that as a concern. I feel that using it for the minute or less it takes to open a can is not likely to be a big drain on the batteries.Simply MARVELOUS!

I would give the electric can opener a 5 if it wasn’t for the non response from their customer support.We purchased the opener four months ago and it has stopped operating correctly, the opener will not reverse after opening the can.I have gone to the manufacturer web site and filled out the support form twice now over the past three weeks, but as of this post I have yet to receive a response.Review update, do not bother using the website support form, I tried twice with no response. Finally just emailed their customer support and received a response the next day. After emailing them a video of how the unit was malfunctioning and a few other pictures, they are sending out a replacement.

This is a really neat can opener. Very easy and quiet and safe. Takes off the top of the can within a 30 second time frame. Well worth the money. Takes two double “AA†batteries not included. Glad I purchased it. Saves me a lot of time.

I gave my wife this opener for Christmas this year because she has difficulty standing at the counter while cooking. She does most things one handed while bracing herself with the other. This opener has been a godsend for her, as she can now open most cans with ease.The smooth edge is very nice, but we discovered one little problem because it removes the rim of the can along with the top, rather than just the top inside the rim. This means that when opening a can which must be drained, you cannot put the top inside the can to squeeze out the juices, oil, etc. Think can of tuna. For those occasions, we have to revert to the old fashioned opener.I would not downrate this opener because of this quirk, as it does its intended job properly and very well.

Bisher hat es problemlos geklappt mit dem Öffnen der Dosen. Ansetzen, anschalten und Gerät erledigt den Rest. Keine scharfen Kanten. Mal schauen ob das bei verschiedenen Dosen Größen oder Formen auch so gut klappt.

l'ho comprato per la cucina industriale dove lavoro, poichè, l'apriscatole in dotazione da 2350 euro dopo qualche mese di utilizzo, non apre più i barattoli. Questo prodotto risulta abbastanza buono. I barattoli da 2.5/3 kg vengono aperti con calma, senza fretta e la cosa più importante e che il coperchio e il barattolo , una volta aperti, non hanno la possibilità di tagliare mani o dita, perfetto. Lo usiamo quotidianamente per aprire molti barattoli e , per ora, non vi sono problemi. Se posso permettermi l'unico neo è che funziona con batterie (4 stilo) e il consumo è un po alto, ma è da considerare che è un oggetto casalingo!!

Love it! Opens all the tins nicely. Easy to use. No sharp edges are left on the tin or lid, which means kids can use it too.
