I've used this butter keeper/slicer for more years than I can count. The lid on my original has finally broke but I can't complain, it's more than 30 yrs old. I've looked everywhere in brick and mortar stores for this type/style in vane. I'm completely blown away to find it on Amazon. THANK YOU! You have the right name.... I find the most amazing and innovative products on your site‼ï¸. My new one is more stout and strong plus it comes with the two different measurements, Eastern and Western which is very important in baking to use the correct measurement. It's quick and easy to use plus you get the exact amount needed. Love it above all others‼ï¸â€¼ï¸â€¼ï¸

If you are an avid baker or like cooking with butter, this is a great tool. You can cut butter portions by tsp or tbsp. It's easy to use and cuts neat chunks. My only warning - it is a bit fragile when dropped.

I had used one of these for years (even gluing the body back together) but eventually a key piece broke off of the "pusher" mechanism, so I had to buy a new one. I use butter frequently but not every day, so I don't like to have a butter dish out all the time, just to have it convenient for cutting a bit off. This tool has worked great for me, fitting my needs. However, the one I received recently seems to be made of slightly weaker plastic and to less stringent specifications - the pusher has to be in exactly the right angle or it gets stuck, and the upper part with the wire cutter gets hung up on one side after nearly every cut. To get it to work, it needs much more attention than the previous model. Such a simple thing. Too bad, it seems corners are being cut in manufacture or assembly.

It's perfect other than it is made of plastic and ALWAYS breaks. I've purchased in 2016, 2018, and a 2 pack in 2020. Too bad the ones purchased in 2020 are already broken and it's been less than a year. It's the same spot too, every time. Right where the wire connects to the "lid". I superglued it back right now, but that rarely holds for more than a day. I will one day figure out how to fix it so I don't have to buy again and again. I love getting a perfect pat of butter for use on the griddle without having to dirty a knife! I wish the whole thing were made of metal.

Have tried several others. This one may break easily ( though mine has NOT) but I would happily buy a new one every year or more because it is so practical. Slice, measure, store, NO GREASY FINGERS. Just pop it back in fridge door when done.The ones I tried were the one with red screw-on end that uses a big screw to push butter out slot - that was great in theory but way too hard, actually almost impossible, to turn so was useless for me. And I tried the orange silicone one which was fine for storage but didn’t slice as easily and then, once the butter was sliced, was too hard to dispense. Plus the two pieces of the unit didn’t really fit together sturdily.This item, to me, is miraculous. I give them as gifts so every kitchen I use has at least one. Mine has two, one for butter, one for margarine sticks. I have had my original one for well over five years.If you use the rectangular shaped butter (European), I think you could still use this, you’d just have to slice the butter in half and slide the half into this unit. The measurements might not be spot on since the butter would not be an exact cube, I’m not sure, haven’t tested that. Then you’d store the other half of yournstick of butter (or buy two of these haha).

It’s horrible. Do not buy. It’s cheap and it falls apart. I wish I didn’t wait so long to try it out. Now it’s too late to return it.

Just what I needed. You can cut off a little tiny thin slice of butter up to a big hunk. So the butter can still be kept in the fridge but is easily useable on bread or whatever.

Bought this for myself and one for my daughter in-law. Both of them broke within a year of use. The cutting wire is not robust enough. The product seemed to succumb to plastic fatigue.
