This is a truly fabulous book. If you think you own all of the knitting and/or knit toy book resource you ever need, please reconsider.I read it cover-to-cover last night (along with my other pair of books by these authors).Their stories are marvelous, their teaching is clear, the patterns are clear and well detailed, and their generosity with techniques and teaching tips to help knitters newer to the craft is truly wonderful. And, most importantly, their teaching is correct!This may not be the book a true beginner knitter might start with for projects. But, it offers straight-forward projects that are not stretch goals once that knitter has confidence in the basic knitting skills. Those are cast on, cast off, knit, purl, basic increases and decreases.What a pleasure to own not only this book, but also the authors' Christmas balls volume and the Easter volume. I haven't had such a charge from other knitters' work in years. Arne and Carlos, keep up the terrific work. Your love of life, creative output, and your clear passion for hard work really shows in your creative pursuits.

I love the patterns from these two guys! I have made about 50 of their Christmas ornaments and now I'm working on the dolls. Their directions are easy to follow; their suggestions are fantastic. The clothes for the dolls are just as fantastic and fun to knit. These guys create the most awesome things to knit.. I highly recommend these books to anyone wanting something different to knit. Such fun! Thank you, Arne and Carlos!!!!!!!!

Knitting toys is not my favorite thing. But this book makes me want to. You are given a basic body, but then the fun begins. Different hair, hairstyles. Different clothing. Pictures show some of your choices. So you can make a doll to match an individual, male or female. The instructions are precise and detailed. So a person who can knit should be able to duplicate the doll and make a custom doll with custom clothing. This would be a great thing for to duplicate an adult, or make a doll for a child with extra clothes for different occasions. That is a really neat thing.

I haven't made one of the dolls yet, but after looking through the book I'm anxious to do so. What fascinates me is the doll is made with double pointed needles and it is all one piece. All of the dolls I've knitted so far has to have the arms and head attached and it is a lot more work .... so I'm anxious to see how it goes knitting a doll with their technique.

I have all of Arne and Carlos' books. They're great - full of patterns that are easy to follow and little stories and comments that bring the items to life.If I could only have one author's books (or pair of authors, to be exact), this would be the one!I just wish that they would consider publishing a book of the Barbie items they have made and show in this book.

Excellent book, many close up photos to supplement clearly written instructions. Careful attention to detail and advice on how to make your creation unique. Highlight is that all clothes are made to be taken on and off, which kids love.These dolls look hilarious, but tricky to construct. Not for beginners. Authors clearly very creative and must have a great sense of humour. Only criticism is no index. Finding various patterns is quite frustrating. The book arrived promptly after ordering, surprising, as it was December (peak mailing time), when I received it.

I saw examples of the knitted dolls on a knitting site and was curious, so I decided to purchase the book. It didn't disappoint! The authors are shown knitting the dolls and commenting on how designing the dolls and their wardrobes evolved. It's not just another knitting instruction book with patterns. It's almost like a work of art in itself!

Questo libro, oltre ad essere ben rilegato e impaginato, ad avere un'ottima grafica, permette di apprendere passo dopo passo la tecnica dei due autori per realizzare bambole di maglia attraverso l'impiego dei ferri con due punte. Tutto è spiegato in modo semplice (il testo è in inglese ma di facile comprensione) e gli schemi illustrati rendono piacevole la lavorazione delle bamboline. Vengono offerti diversi modelli di bambole e relativo guardaroba. Consigliato a chi ha già un po' di dimestichezza con la maglia e gli schemi.

The dolls in this book work up quickly and the patterns are easy to follow. I've made one doll, no clothes for it yet because I just wanted to see how the pattern worked up before I started making Christmas presents for my granddaughters. I think I'll be enjoying making these dolls as much as they'll enjoy playing with them.
