While I have tried others, the one chemical I have been using ever since my first day developing photos in my darkrooms has been Dektol!

it works regardless, but first order was brown, second order was clear (when mixed). The formula used seems to be inconsistent.

Classic Kodak Dektol black and white photographic paper developer powder, to mix with water for one gallon of liquid developer, in original Kodak tight safe package which was delivered quickly. A very good deal!
