Was easy to install. I had to clean and knock of some hardened minerals. Then lubed the surface of the tank with some dawn dish soap. Applied some top pressure and rotated it on with relative ease.

You need some dish soap to install this piece. My dad tried a couple of times but didn’t succeed. I gave it a go and got it installed on the first try. No leaks and a tight fit. I definitely recommend this item. I’d also recommend looking up how to videos via YouTube and/or other reviews.

I had it back in the box ready to return it. I called a plumber that found the leak and told me it would be better just to replace the toilet. By the time he would replace the parts would cost the same as a new toilet. Then called another plumper that said he could not come out for a week and then the day before canceled. It was not the easiest to install had to take it apart and use soap all over gasket but once it slipped in it was like that was easy. Perfect fit great price fast delivery.

My one piece kohler was periodically running even when not used. The flush valve is weird on these toilets because of the one piece design. When I removed mine one of the 3 triangle feet broke off. I think it was already cracked and so the flush valve gasket wasnt holding a good seal and was slowly leaking. Lowes and home depot dont stock this special flush valve and the universal kits wont work. I special ordered a cheaper red and black flush valve from kohler that looks like it will work because it also has 3 triangle feet but it doesn't actually work because its too small to make a seal. This yellow and black cylindrical one perfect. The instructions tell you to put liquid dish soap on the gasket when installing. Its actually pretty hard to install it because you have to compress them gasket while turning it whole being in a tight space.

If this is the flush valve you need, buy this one!!!! it installs in about 5 minutes, IF you read the instructions.

This was the exact replacement for the part I needed.This version of the cylindrical part was the one for the porcelain opening at the bottom of the toilet tank. It included the very thick spongy gasket that goes between toilet tank and the bottom separate part that is attached to tank by pressing down with a lot of pressure and then a Slight turn TO THE LEFT ONCE the 3 tabs are in place. The picture instructions show this. The bottom piece of the cylinder comes off to make the install of that piece easier.Bob McMac

Though wished it could have been delivered faster than 5 days, it was the exact part I needed for my Kohler one piece toilet . Be sure to read the other reviews for tips and tricks for installing this if you need to also replace the seal part at the bottom of the toilet tank. We did and it was super helpful. Soak the gasket in hot water, then soap it before installing. Wouldn’t have been able to do the install without this knowledge. Thanks to all those who contributed.

The only trick is make sure you wear gloves to put it on. Or else, it would be too slippery using bare hands to press it down.
