About this item

  • WIDE RANGE OF SIZES: The TCT hole saw kit offers an extensive selection of cutting diameters: 9/16"(14mm), 5/8"(16mm), 3/4"(19mm), 7/8"(22mm), 1"(25mm), 1-1/8"(29mm), 1-1/4"(32mm), 1-3/8"(35mm), 1-1/2"(38mm), 1-3/4"(45mm), 2"(51mm), and 2-1/8"(54mm). With a cutting depth of 1 inch (25mm) and a shank diameter of 2/5 inch (10mm)
  • THREE-BLADE DESIGN: Crafted from Tungsten Carbide Tipped (TCT) cutters, with titanium-plated steel pilot drill bit, the hole saws feature a three-blade design for smooth and clean cuts. The outer, middle, and inner blades ensure long-lasting performance with minimal chipping and dulling
  • SUPERIOR CUTTING EFFICIENCY: The spring-loaded pilot bit ejects cut slugs efficiently, while the double round circle design aids in easy metal filing removal. TCT carbide steel teeth offer fast, precise cutting, delivering burr-free holes quicker than conventional drills or hole saws
  • DEEP CUTTING DEPTH: This carbide hole saw can effortlessly cut through stainless steel up to 1 inch thick, making it ideal for cutting hard metals. Note: use coolant (water or oil) during high-speed drilling for best results and prioritize safety with goggles and gloves
  • VERSATILE APPLICATIONS: This kit fits into any 3/8" or larger adjustable drill chuck, making it compatible with bench drills, handheld electric drills, magnetic drills, impact drills etc. Ideal for cutting through hard metals like stainless steel, aluminum alloy, thick iron plates, and general sheet metals. Not recommended for concrete, tiles, or stone
  • COMPREHENSIVE PACKAGE: The package includes 12 TCT hole saws, 2 titanium-plated pilot drill bits, and 2 extra hex wrenches, all neatly packed in a durable aluminum box

These come in a pretty nice case with foam insert to hold the parts in place. A couple of them had come out during shipping but it all went back in with no problem and seems to be holding fine while storing sideways. It had an extra piece of foam on top that I kept to help keep it all in place. The base of the bits have three flat sides to prevent slipping in a chuck. The bits are all stamped with metric sizes and then laser engraved a bit smaller with both metric and standard sizes. Based on the test hole I drilled with it, the edges didn't seem to be precise enough to matter if the metric and standard sizes aren't exact. A little bit of clean up would be needed and if a precise hole is needed then fine tuning with a file or dremel would likely be required.I cut a test hole in 16 gauge hot rolled sheet metal and it cut through with little issue. The nature of this kind of bit is that it will remove a fair bit of material so it can take a little time. It did grab the work piece, as to be expected, so definitely clamp the piece down solidly if it's loose. The spring on the inner bit took a little bit of pressure to hold down and still cut and it basically shot the cut out piece down when it finally broke loose. The hole had a rough edge on the bottom, which probably would have been cleaner if used on a drill press or the work piece was more solid or secured. According to the included speed chart, my drill press doesn't go slow enough for the material I was cutting so I used a hand drill instead. This certainly isn't going to be quite as clean as a nice laser cut hole, but this did the intended job and is definitely easier than drilling a smaller hole and grinding or filing it bigger. It seemed to hold up well with no significant wear visible after cutting the test hole, so that's a good sign. But beware of the speed and potential for heat build up as I imagine it would be really easy to cook the bits and wear out prematurely. As a relatively inexpensive set of bits, I think this is pretty good value.

These carbide toothed hole saws cut through thick aluminum with ease. The metal chips clear free and did not clog up the teeth. I did not try it on steel.

I purchased this hole saw set to install plumbing and electrical conduit in steel shipping containers. I needed to drill holes that were ¾ inch up to as large as 2 inches through the 7-gauge tubular supports and 14-gauge walls. I planned to use a Dewalt cordless drill with 3/8 chuck. The kit arrived in a very nice case that has two latches, and a foam insert. Each bit had its own compartment in the foam and was in good condition. It includes a chart of the bits, and the sizes are clearly stamped on each bit. Another chart recommends the speed setting for the drill you are using based on the metal and thickness of the metal. The pilot hole bit has a strong spring that pushes the metal cut out off the bit for easy removal. Each bit comes with the pilot hole installed and there are two extra pilot bits. This made it easy to change from one size to another as I worked through my project.I cut over 30 holes using the ¾ inch bit and it continued to cut well with no significant loss of cutting power. The holes were clean and within the tolerance that I needed to run the pipes through the holes. When compared to other holes saws I have used, it cut faster and lasted longer than most at the same price range.

Drill bits are very brittle and even with a drill press on thin sheet medal it took alot of time even with oil.
