About this item

  • OUTSTANDING SOUND: The top of the cello is made of premium spruce with better toughness for producing a denser and more resonant sound. The maple back with clearly visible texture creates an elegant appearance while better absorbing the noise and transmission of vibration
  • SUPERIOR MATERIAL: Made of premium ebony, our fingerboard is dense and solid to withstand the stress of continued daily use for comfortable play for hours or jam sessions. The ebony tailpiece can better balance the tension of the string, along with four fine-tuning screws for easy tuning
  • ELEGANT APPEARANCE: The scroll of the full size cello polished by the technician provide a fantastic hand feeling, along with beautiful lines. The hand-drawn lines of the body are connected smoothly for an elegant appearance. It is a work of art
  • DETAIL DESIGN: The bag is tailored according to the shape of the 4/4 cello and has a high up to 7mm cotton thickness, which can better protect your precious cello. I am very pleased with this Cello. It sounds fantastic and looks great. Faced with hundreds of dollars in student rentals, I got this instead and very glad I took that chance with the ktaxon! It looks and plays great, zero issue with the tuning pegs slipping, holds the tuning very very well, strings are good height, setup was necessary, but that would be with all cellos I imagine - and it was really easy enough. It really is a fantastic instrument for the money, especially seeing as this one has the real ebony fingerboard, pegs, and tail, real flame maple and spruce - though probably laminate. That does not bother me because the tone is really fantastic, and I have read it also makes the instrument stronger and less prone to cracking. So, a fine compromise. There's only two things I would improve: mainly, the fine tuners work, but they are not the greatest. At some point I will swap these out. I have another old cello with "real" fine tuners and they are SO much easier to turn! It would be nice if this would come with that option for a few dollars more. Anyways, they do work so its ok. The other - antiqued varnish job, imo, is a little too concentrated, even blotchy. This can be seen in their pics if you look closely, and it is not a big deal. Some may even like it like that, I would prefer it a little more muted. Great job Ktaxon!

This fell apart in weeks, and I have fixed MANY string instruments (grew up doing Suzuki violin) and this instrument is junk. The bridge won't stay, the pegs fall out, and overall it's awful.

The build quality of this was FAR better than my $1,200 Cremona, so I sold my Cremona! The finish is a little splotchy, but not terrible. The bridge was too tall, but that's a fairly easy fix, or an inexpensive fix if you have a luthier trim it down for you. The strings are not the best, but will do for now. Overall, I'm happy with it.

It wasn't assembled correct. The bridge fell off, strings broke, no rosin, couldn't tighten or tune strings. I had to take to local shop and pay to have work. I bought rosin to play. The cello was left outside during rain. It swelled up. It was a let down. It was cheap and cheaply made. I wouldn't recommend unless you know someone that will fix it. I wouldn't buy off Amazon again. You get what you pay for.

These cellos are un playable, they do not hold a tune, their bridges are not sized correctly and the body is flimsy and looked like they were carved with a dull knife. The tuning Pegs will randomly shoot out and hit people… (no joke we aren’t allowed to bring it to our music lessons because it popped the peg three times and the last time it hit a kid in the face) weTook it to 3 different Luthier’s and were told it is not fixable. When I told that to the seller they offered me 80 bucks back, but would not allow a return… we now have a super expensive and massive decoration that is worthless unless we need firewood.

Has tone tuned every time. String holders keep moving 1/1 but not as big as it should be
