At first look, it seems cheap and flimsy. But this peeler really works well. Arthritis makes my fingers stiff and sore, but this peeler is so smooth and sharp, my fingers don’t hurt. Handle could be an inch longer. Very happy with this purchase.

The one I currently have is probably 20 years old and still as sharp as ever and no rust , this is in my opinion the best peeler out there

Years ago, my wife bought half a dozen peelers to find a good one. The best one had a heavy and expensive stainless steel handle. It felt hefty and had a sharp blade. However, when I attempted to remove the rind from a well aged parmesan cheese the blade just buckled.After reading a few reviews, I bought this peeler. When it arrived, my wife was not too happy that I replaced her high end peeler with a junky looking plastic thing. Before even trying it, she went out and bought an all metal peeler. However, after using her all metal one and the Rikon, she is sold on the Original Swiss Peeler. She went out and bought more for our kids.While I have not tested it on hard cheese rinds, it works amazingly well on winter squash which seems to be the standard in our house for peeler testing.

I heard this peeler was one of the best for the price and unfortunately, it seems that after only a handful of uses and cycles through the dishwasher it has rusted.

Works really well, comfortable with sharp and clean peeling. First time I washed it I did not dry it immediately, so it rusted. The rust rinsed off and learned my lesson to dry it immediately

This peeler is very small and has a cheap, toy like feel. The blade is very sharp and peels carrots with ease however, it had trouble with red potato’s because it peels such a thin layer, you have to go over the same spot more than once. Potato peels would often get stuck in the blade requiring you to clear it to continue peeling.

This peeler takes off very little of the outside of carrots, lemons etc; which is good. The handle is short but works well for both myself and my husband.

Rusted after a couple uses. Heard great things but I am convinced I was duped by the online hype. The blade is brittle and prone to rust meaning without delicate hand washing, it will break down after as little as a single use. Not dishwasher safe either.Wouldn’t recommend. Even if it was fragile, it’s not any better than any other peeler I’ve ever used.

We've been using these peelers for years. I won't lie; you will never find a better peeler. Even those rutabagas that are covered in wax (why) are no match for the Kuhn-Rikon. What do you buy for the person who has everything? The Kuhn-Rikon fruit and vegetable peeler, of course! And when it finally breaks down six years from now, that person will be emailing and texting desperately to find out where you found this little gem.
