Just received this dog life vest, and we are very impressed with the quality. It is well constructed and the materials are excellent. The plastic buckles are heavy duty, the stitching is well done, and the material is light weight, yet sturdy. It is winter at the moment, so we haven't tried it in the water, but we did try it on our 7.5 pound Yorkie. The XS size fit pretty well and would also fit dogs that are a bit larger. The velcro backed pieces and buckle straps are adjustable to fit a range of sizes. I also like that there is a grab handle on the back in case you need to get hold of your pet quickly. I think this is a wise thing to have if you plan on having your dog on your boat, paddle board, or kayak. Most dogs can swim, but many might not be able to go far, especially if their fur gets wet and weighs them down. We used to have a pomeranian who loved to go in the water, but after about 30 seconds his fluffy fur soaked up water like a sponge and he began to sink. So, better safe than sorry. Glad to have this to protect our furbaby.

This a a big jacket flotation device for the pup. I followed the size chart, and measured our pups chest. The sizing chart said for a 54 pound dog, with a 30†chest, the large sis right. My dog looks like a wiener in abun, the sides of the jacket are thick and long. One thing for sure, it’s a lot of floatation and my pup should float safely with his head above water. Anxious for pool opening time to give it a try. Our dog is water shy when it comes to the pool, hoping this will increase his confidence..

My pup enjoys swimming but when we are out on a boat or on a rocky shore edge I like to add another layer of security. This life vest was a great choice. I had another vest, but I could not safely secure it on the dog. This vest fits like a dream, yet it is simple to use. The velcro attachment around his chest and the adjustable straps provide a secure fit. When I was ordering he was an xxl by weight and a xl by chest measurement. I chose the measurement as he is a long bodied dog and it fits him well. He even did not object to wearing it. Although I like the color I do wish it was a bit brighter to make it a little more visible in the water. The vest is well made and the floatation seems substantial and well placed. I will have to wait to try it out in warmer weather. Overall I am happy to recommend this canine life jacket.Â
