My mom opened this during Christmas and other family members familiar with the allure of this movie (and the sequel) commented how much they loved it, I should have bought more!Also is a great white elephant gift. My brother recently directed the play A Christmas Story...and he lives this well-made nutcracker, designed to represent the old man from the show. I was thrilled to find it, and so affordable.

My mom has a nutcracker collection but I couldn't remember which ones she already had. I read tons of reviews from other stores where people said the quality was junk. Finally I found this. I knew she didn't have it. It was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but then I was also hoping that the quality was better. It's a nice, sturdy item and I didn't see any issues with the paint or glued areas.
