I do not feel this Ladder Pull Down System is going to last long. The metal does not seem thick enough or durable enough for pulling down a heavy ladder. Where the ring attached to the decorative "flower" I think will fail first. There is a gap where the ring attaches, and it is not solid. The washer is very lightweight. The nut that attached to it is tiny. I installed very quickly and opened and shut it no problem. If I had to bet, I would think I would get maybe 20 times pulling open before it snaps off. Will update as time goes on. Shouldn't take too long as we access attic several times a week. It did arrive quickly and damage free.

I basically wanted a pole with a hook for misc reasons of reaching things (ie birdhouses, high shutters to open and close) etc. We don't have a pull down attic so I can't review that aspect however, when the pole is extended completely, it's pretty bendy and not sturdy really. It feels pretty fragile when extended fully. If it's not extended fully, it feel pretty solid. You lock it into place by turning it and that works well. If your attic door is heavy or it's high up so the pole has to be extended, it may bend or break. I give this a 3.5 stars
