We bought a few of these for our backyard pond to provide shade for our koi. They’re perfect! We bought three of them and have them all connected to each other. We did anchor them to the bottom of the pond so they they didn’t float to the skimmer and block it. We have planted water plants directly in them using pond soil as well as dropped a pot directly in them. Both options work well. Even purchased a few for my parent’s pond.

Thought these would be perfect for pond but most plants died, they actually need water from the top. think I will plant artificial ones in there for the pond!

10/17/2016 Update - So far this floating plant basket has held up well. We have been using it approximately 1 year and have had no issues. We ended up weighting it down with fishing line and attaching a couple tire tubes adjoining it to create an island in the middle of our pond.Originally I was a bit disappointed in the size of the float being as though it seemed small for the extra large size and the price was high in my opinion. But it seems to be holding up well and we are pleased with this product.

The floating basket started out nice. Within 2 months the black is gone along the top of the planter and you can see the foam ring. I don't know what happened to the black covering but if I wanted just a foam looking ring to float in my pond i think I could have found something for less $$.

A bit pricey for a piece of foam, the netting looks and feels sturdy, it worked for me.

Love these, they don't last more than a couple years, but the fish can't Get to the plants and the plants help filter the pond and look more like a natural pond. I put hyacinth in with a little of the clay pond rocks, this gives the roots something to grow around and be stable. They grow a couple feet up and the out over the islands.

The fabric disintegrated in 2 months; now i will make some replacements out of something, like ground cover fabric. Don't buy this type. It is a waste of money. I bought three for a out large pond; all i have left is 3 styrofoam donuts that i could have cut from a block for $1 each.

Ich habe 3 der Pflanzinseln bestellt. Das Design des Styropor-Reifens hat sich geändert. Es verengt sich nicht mehr nach oben, wie auf den Abbildungen auf der Packung zu sehen, sondern es ist nun ein gleichmäßiger, breiterer Reifen. Dadurch hat sich die Tragkraft offensichtlich erhöht. Ich hatte keinerlei Probleme, was die Schwimmfähigkeit der Insel angeht. Man kann noch erwähnen, das am schwarzen Bezug eine ca. 40 cm lange Schnur befestigt ist, mit der man die Insel an einer Verankerung befestigen kann. Fand ich gut.

Ich habe mir die schwimmenden Pflanzschalen von Laguna in den Größen 46cm 35cm und 25cm (rund) bei Amazon bestellt.Lieferung kam wie gewohnt schnell und ausreichend verpackt.Beim Auspacken fand ich es schonmal gut das bei den Laguna Pflanzschalen ein viel voluminöser Auftriebsring aus Styropor vorhanden ist als bei den Modellen anderer Hersteller, die bei Verwendung wie in der Anleitung empfohlen, nicht schwimmfähig waren.Bei den Pflanzschalen von Lagune konnte ich die Größen von 35cm und 25cm gut mit Teicherde füllen und auch eine 3 cm Schicht aus feinem gewaschenem Kies (max 6-15mm) einbringen. Der Kies ist wichtig, damit der Regen und einschwappendes Wasser nicht die feine Teicherde ausspülen und die Wurzeln der Pflanzen freilegen.Die beiden kleineren Pflanzinseln schwimmen auch sehr gut, ohne dass der schwarze Bezug zu weit störend über die Wasseroberfläche ragt. Ich hatte auch die 46cm Pflanzschale entsprechend befüllt (3 Pflanzen aus 7-9cm Topf + 2/3 Teicherde und Kiesschicht. Leider ist die Pflanzschale untergegangen. Ich habe dann alles wieder rausgefischt und mühsam getrennt. Beim zweiten Mal habe ich dann zwei umgedrehte leere Pflanztöpfe mit eingebaut und nur noch halb soviel Kies genommen. Jetzt ist die Pflanzschale nur noch langsam versunken. Abhilfe schafften dann mehrere Styroporstückchen, die ich unter die Pflanzschale zwischen Styroporring und und Vlies geklemmt habe. Jetzt bleibt die grosse Pflanzschale auch an der Wasseroberfläche.Gut fände ich, wenn der Hersteller Angaben zum Gewicht/Volumen der Substrate machen würde, damit man es besser einschätzen kann.Nächstemal würde ich wahrscheinlich lieber die kleineren Versionen kaufe und zusammenbinden als die ganz grosse.

die teichschale gefällt mir gut, schwimmt oben, mit guter teicherde darin, wachsen die pflanzen prima, ich bin mit dem produkt zufrieden
