I used this to bore thru 4 joists for a dryer pipe and it held up nicely. Just make sure that you use a powerful drill that has a 1/2 “ chuck.

Not the sharpest hole saw around and I would definitely not use it on any metal at all. It did a pretty good job going through 3/4" plywood for making the holes I needed in some cornhole boards. It was way less expensive than the known brands and did the job. Bottom line: if you want to make holes in soft wood that are somewhere near 6" in diameter but don't need to be exactly 6", then this is a good and very inexpensive option.

I have drilled 14 4 1/4 inch holes in 2 layers of Sheetrock and the teeth are still sharp. The package came with not only the Allen key to change out the pilot bit.. but it also came with 3 spare pilot bits as well. Spend 3 times as much and you only get the hole saw.. no arbor or extras.. and it lasts 5 holes

I used this hole saw to install 6" speakers in my boat. It cut right through two layers of marine rug glued over 1/8" aluminum. I put the drill in reverse first to gently cut the outside rug layer. Then put it in forward and drilled through the two other layers. Worked great! I only cut two holes with it so I can't say how long it will last.

The blade is pretty dull. I had a hard time cutting holes in 3/4" plywood. Also, the arbor on this thing is larger than the drill chuck on several of my drills. I tried to use a corded drill rather than my cordless and it won't fit. I tried using a Ryobi and Dewalt cordless - won't fit. It fits in my Craftsman cordless, but the blade is so dull I have to really force it to cut and it overheats the drill. I can get two holes cut before the battery is fully drained. It's cheap enough that I'll keep it as a backup, but I'm going to have to buy a better quality one for daily work.
