Definitely blocks some of the EMF going down under the laptop, but not coming straight into the body. Using a hard wire and ethernet connection is best.

Take radiation exposure seriously. This is a good barrier and yes, I probably could have made the same thing with cardboard and foil, but this one is nice looking, sturdy and does the job. I would buy another in a heartbeat.

I don't have any way to test the actual radiation but it's something that my wife wanted and it's sturdy and well made. She uses it on top of a Sam & Sofia lap desk when she's on the couch and she really likes it. I might buy another one for myself.
