I finally had the opportunity to practice free motion quilting this afternoon. Dropped my feed dogs, put a practice quilt sandwich in, and went to it. I need a LOT of practice, but I didn’t suck at it, and while I thought the foot might be too low, it was perfect. Will be doing some more practice, and hopefully will soon be able to do more than straight line quilting.

It was a great foot while it lasted. Unfortunately that was only 3 months for me. The arm that makes it lift up when sewing broke off.It's still somewhat useable just doesn't move as smoothly.

I had no idea what I was doing - I had never even changed out a foot before, much less the whole apparatus. I found a youtube video and the instructions were pretty simple. Within minutes I was free-quilting. For a few dollars this little device gets you a fun new trick that you can perform on your sewing machine. Very cool.
