This can opener is probably the best invention ever. Especially for people who don’t have a very good grip or people that may have. Arthritis is absolutely perfect. It fits down to a 1 inch size container for lid and will open it with ease. The value of this can opener is extremely well worth the money spent. It removed the lids so easily That you can do it one handed. It’s small, sleek and you can put it in any discreet area that you choose. Meds come off like butter. This item, I highly highly recommend to anyone who might have a hard time with opening any lid.

Don't usually take the time to write reviews, but this one's worth it. An old industrial design professor of mine used to say good design is functional, but great design is functional AND reduced to its simplest form. That is what this jar opener is. After online researching all sorts of contraptions that were big and bulky with a thousand parts, including a robot opener designed in Japan (fun idea, but figured it would not last long), I came across this -- literally a triangular stainless plate with two strips of stainless teeth for gripping. No mechanical or electrical parts. It is heavy, high quality steel with very solid rivets and the perfect size screws for kitchen cabinets. I have two injured thumbs and can't grip things well. My husband just screwed this opener under a kitchen cabinet (can't even see it and takes no counter space) and with two hands I can hold a jar and give a light twist clockwise which creates a counterclockwise force to the lid and voila! it's off. I have tried it with a large dill pickle jar and small diameter olive and jelly jars. No problem. It's so simple it's genius! Happy healing thumbs.

I bought one of these early this yr , for my friends birthday, she loves it , we both have trouble opening jars. And so I got more one for myself and one for my daughter, I like how it fits all the different sizes. And so easy to use. So if you have lost strength in your hands, Arthritis, like me fibromyalgia this is a definite buy, you won't be disappointed. Great company.

While we can usually open pretty much everything, there are just some products that lids are sealed way too tight to get open. This thing works great and makes opening things simple. Mounted on the bottom of our cabinet. Just wedge your container and lid between the two slanted pieces and one side with teeth holds the lid in place while you easily twist and it opens the container.

Simple to use and effective. Well-made. However, because it's under-the-cabinet you can't see it; at least where I installed it. The resulting inability to use normal eye-hand coordination causes me problems. (Not to mention that I'm never sure which way to turn the jar!) Both of those issues may be unique to me, or perhaps I'll get used to it in time.

I bought it for my 84 years old mother who suffered from arthritis. Her hands are really deformed, she's in great pain and has difficulties to even open a water bottle. At first, she was reticent (she doesn't do good at all with change, lol!). After a demonstration, she was mesmerized! She had that 8 year old look at Christmas! It took her a couple of minutes to understand that she has to turn it clockwise instead of counter-clockwise (because the holding « blades » are on the right), but after the « learning curve », everything went fine! The only downside (not a default from the design, mind you), is that she lacks the strength in her arms to hold the big glass jars long enough, she has to ask help from other residents where she lives.I'll probably end up with one myself, for when my girlfriend ask me to open those nearly impossible sticky lids, just to preserve my « male pride »... Lol!Overall, a perfectly designed sturdy tool that works like a charm, something that is hard to find, nowadays, as we are sadly invaded with Chinese crap that doesn't last (when it works properly) and ends up in the garbage.
