Half the ones I have tried weren't that great. This one has good rigidity and works perfectly. I did have to grind down the height a couple thousands to make it line up right on my mini lathe, but not the worst thing ever.

Why pay more? These work great on my 12" - 2hp lathe. I pushed my last one a little too hard, the insert snapped and took the tip of the tool with it, so now there's no support under the tip of the insert. It's also cheaper to buy this took with the inserts included, than to buy the inserts on their own!

Excellent grooving tool, slightly different than the model pictured as it has a curved lower edge that slopes down towards the front, this is a REALLY good feature as adds additional support to cutting edge.Limited maximum depth of cut off, around 25mm ( 1" ) but that's to be expected.The supplied cutting insert were also worked perfectly well, not sure about how long they'll last but again at this price that'll be a lot of grooves cut.Definitely worth the money.

Seems well made but too large for an AXA tool holder. I had to mill it down to get it to fit.
