No difficulties in getting it set up or running and no difficulty in using it, even for my kids. As with many previous reviews, it would be nice if there was a reset button instead of having to turn it off and on to get back to the choose time control screen. Since I had read reviews, that was expected. All in all, works for what it is designed to do.

It has every feature needed for tournament play or for blitz. Compact profile, with a crisp clear display. Itâ€™s a bit lightweight but seems durable enough; Iâ€™ve played some blitz games with it and it performed fine (although neither player was overly Kong-like when hitting the clock). I like having the bright red outline on the button for the player with the active clockâ€¦ easy to see which side is active, even at some distance. Programming seems to be quite straightforward. The manual is OK; if you need something better there is an alternative pdf manual online for the Wholesale Chess Advanced Digital Chess Timer (which seems to be the same device with a different name); it explains some settings more clearly and thoroughly.There are two minor irritants for me: 1) it has no reset function, other than switching the unit off and back on again. That can get inconvenient. 2) The end-of-game beep/alarm is *off* by default. This was made the default because alarms are not allowed in many tournaments. To turn the alarm on, one must remember to set it just before starting each and every game by holding down the â€˜minusâ€™ button until the beep symbol shows on the display. Once the game has started, the alarm cannot be reset. Setting the alarm is easy to overlook (and frequently is) when playing a bunch of short back-to-back blitz games. Other clocks allow you to set your preferred default alarm behavior. These two drawbacks are relatively minor. When I consider all the other excellent features and low price this clock deserves a high rating.

It has 38 presets that can all be easily customized and changed. Works well when I've used it. Great buy for a budget friendly clock.
