Ratcheting bit driver for leatherman bit set. Works amazingly well. Is sturdy and lives up to the expectations of any off the shelf ratcheting screwdriver. Doesn't seem like it will easily break or have the ratcheting mechanism overcome by force

I had been looking for one in vain for a few years. Always for sale but never in stock unless you’re willing to pay through the nose. When I saw this available I almost fainted.Certainly well built as is widely known but so elusive.

I am really impressed with this Leatherman ratchet accessory. It allows you to use all of your 1/4" bits. For years i could not justify spending $40 on this. But having the ability to repair most items while away from home is worth it.

If you own a Wave Leatherman, buy this gadget, it works great and it is really strong.

TL;DR: I am a fanatic about the excellent Leatherman ratcheting bit driver and recommend it to anyone who will even ocasionally use it. There are 2 small caveats.I am an electronic access control technician by trade, auto and FAA A&P mechanic by training and thus remove and install fasteners of all kinds multiple times daily. I bought my ratcheting bit driver over a year ago and have used it almost every working day since and use it at home regularly as well. I absolutely love this tool and rate it among one of my favorite tool purchases ever.My Leatherman Wave+ goes everywhere I go and has been an absolutely essential everyday item for me for years. I loved having a Philips bit in my pocket at all times but found the flat profile of the Leatherman bits to limit it's ultimate usefulness. A coworker informed me of the ratcheting bit driver that adapted to my Wave+ and before he even had time to Google it I had one on order. I also ordered the holster with the side sheath so that I could carry the Leatherman and the bit driver right on my belt while at work. This combination has replaced most of my tool bag for 90% of my daily work responsibilities. The ratchet is very high quality for the price. Certainly not the same quality as my Snap-On or Matco ratchets, but of course I didn't expect that from a $30 ratchet. Bear in mind that it's not intended to compete at that level and if you have high quality ratchets from other manufacturers, you know how much they can cost even for 1/4" drive. Unsure of tooth count, but it's more than enough to be useful in the majority of applications without issue. The magnet is quite strong and confidently holds the bits.Being able to adapt any 1/4" but onto my Leatherman at any time has absolutely changed my working life. I love this tool and can't recommend it more highly. That being said, there are 2 caveats:There are a few reviews citing the use of plastic materials. The only plastic part is the directional control ring. Otherwise, the ratchet and teeth are both stainless and have stood up to pretty significant torque and daily use over the past 13 months of ownership. The plastic direction control ring has developed a hairline crack that I'm sure will require a warranty claim at some point but has not affected my use of the tool in the months since I first identified it.2nd caveat relates to the depth of the bit reciever. A standard 1" apex bit will sit just below the chamfered shoulder which, depending on application, can limit access to certain fasteners. I believe this is due to its other intended application with the actual Leatherman brand flat profile bits. A tad annoying in some situations, but I have circumvented this by buying 2" bits of my most commonly used types and haven't had any clearance issues since.Aside from those 2 items, I have been absolutely thrilled with the quality and performance of the bit driver and would instantly purchase another were it to break or get lost.

This is a replacement. It’s a pricey replacement but after a little inner turmoil I decided it was worth it.And it truly is. I’m surprised how often I use it off the Leatherman and on its own. It’s amazingly versatile. The ratchet feature is easy to set (it does take some getting used to at first) and is irreplaceable in small tight spots (of which there are many on a boat). It’s crazy how easily this became an EDC and indispensable tool. I’m a little ashamed of myself for that. From electrical buss bars to hatches to a variety of fasteners in hard to reach places, this thing is used more than my snap-on tools. It’s strong, tough, and not a gimmicky toy add on that I originally feared. For use on the Leatherman, it was a long overdue addition to their line. The extension was good, and I did use it, but this ratchet feature opened up a lot of uses I’d have otherwise skipped with a Leatherman even though it was already on my hip.One big problem I encountered was with friends who helped me out. This thing wound up in pockets and “forgottenâ€. More than once I had to chase it down and recover it.Highly recommended ðŸ‘ðŸ½Helpful ?👇ðŸ½

Works very well. Ratchet teeth are precise and plentiful. Item fits perfectly into the leather man surge case along with extra bits and saw blade. Really compliments the surge well and I find that the ratchet effect is far easier than trying to turn the entire tool with the classic bit extender. Works well for household tasks and I do not doubt the durability of this tool. I have no issue with the item being made in Taiwan, as Taiwanese steel is excellent and the majority of tools are also made there. I would prefer something made in the US, but it is a non issue for something so small and of such high quality. Know the limitations and use the right tool for the job, as in don’t overturn it and it shouldn’t break as some seem to worry about or suggest. I do make sure to lock the ratchet mechanism before replacing it in the leather man sheath, which I feel may prolong the tools lifespan. Overall it is an excellent tool and if it were to break in 3+ years out of warranty I would happily purchase a new one to replace it. I also really appreciate that it will work with standard bits just in case, but I do not expect to need the feature. Overall I would highly recommend this tool and I appreciate the design as it compliments my leather man surge. Unless you are planning on abusing it I would recommend it over the classic but drive extender tool, despite the short warranty period.

Works well for what it is. It’s great as an edc accessory, but if you’re working on a real project then stick with a dedicated ratchet driver. I’ve only used it several times so I can’t comment as yet on durability. Definitely compliments your Leatherman Charge (or any Leatherman that has the bit accessory adaptor.). There is some horizontal â€play†at the attachment point which I was not expecting, but this has no effect on the ratchet’s performance.Overall, I would recommend this item.

Just what I needed to finish off my min EDC toolkit. The ratchet driver so far has performed well, and makes screwing in and out screws much easier. There are 3 setting. Right (screw-in), locked (no ratchet) & Left (screw out) which are easily controlled by the black ring which feels secure to use and there isn’t much twist either. Although this has a hex head which will accept both the normal hex shaped screw bits at well at the flat leatherman bits, it also had a flat bottom. This is obviously mainly designed to fit the leatherman bit adaptors in some of their multi tools (such as the Charge) but this will also fit securely into a hex adaptor it’s self (so with the square bit adaptor for the leatherman square Phillips head such as on the Bond). So now have a UK legal EDC mini toolkit setup.I was initially concerned about the durability of this but so far no issues.
