The description says aluminum, but they're a plastic housing. They'd get another star if they were honest about that.That said these things are bright and really allow you to see everything. I put one in my father's bedroom closet and told him to go look in it. I can't type what he actually said but he was very impressed. Seems like a decent value for the money but we'll have to see how long they actually last.They're not pretty, but they weren't made to be pretty. They were made to be functional.The only thing is that if you're (un)installing into a socket with a pull string switch, they can be a little annoying as you have to hold the string out of the way when turning the light.

Had two100 watt equivalent LED lights in the garage and replaced them with these. The difference is obvious and amazing!! Easy install, too! Just screw in like a light bulb and adjust arms to your preference.
