How a catalytic converter work

The catalyst is composed of a substrate, rare earth elements, and precious metals (palladium, platinum,rhodium).
The material of the inner lining pad is typically an expansion mat or steel wire mesh pad, serving the purpose of sealing, insulating, and securing the substrate to prevent damage caused by vibration, thermal deformation, and other factors.

Fitting was off a bit took tow straps and alot of patience to line up. Hanger hooks a little long.

This is a quality piece - heavy and well made. Fit 2014 Ford Escape 2.0l turbo perfect. Used old O2 sensors and no check light issues. These direct fit converters are a great choice.
