About this item

  • Keep floors clean- Heavy duty boot scraper brush cleans and removes mud, sand, dirt, dust, snow, grass, burs, goatheads, sandburs, and more.
  • Mounting required- Mount to a variety of surfaces with included hardware (4 screws & 4 concrete anchors). Mount to a piece of wood, plastic or wood deck, concrete porch or sidewalk, or a truck step.
  • Power scrubber- Upgraded 1" Firm Bristles. Please note the scrubber is designed to fit snugly- it should be hard to get your shoes in the brush. This friction and force is what gives the scrubber the force to fling off mud.
  • Works on all footwear- Cleaner brush for shoes, sneakers, work boots, golf, soccer and football cleats, feet, and muck boots.
  • Heavy duty- Other scrapers rot and crack, ours will not. The industrial metal frame and composite plastic sides on our scraper withstand all weather elements and can be used outdoors.

Really great shoe scrubber for use when coming home after a hike. The build quality is excellent. The frame is all metal and the bristles are a stiff resin composite that attacks the dirt and debris on your boots, not the boots.Technically it’s supposed to be screwed down to the floor, but I’m not punching holes in my porch for it. Using it this way can be a touch difficult because the distance between the end of the left and right bristles is about 3.25 inches. I small feet for a guy and I had trouble pushing my boots back and forth without them getting stuck. I assume my experience would be different if it was screwed down based on my use with similar scrubbers offered at some of the local trails I hike. They look almost identical and are bolted down and I have no problem using those. Eventually, I’ll build a platform to mount the scrubber to. For nowI just angle my soles onto the side brushes and that does a good enough job cleaning them.Even with the scrubber not being screwed down I don’t have a problem with it moving around much. It has fold out step plates on either end and stepping on one while scraping the other shoe works fine.

This review is for "Legacy Boot Scrubber, Upgraded Bristles and Frame Strength - Shoe Scraper & Boot Cleaner Brush", Legacy Item model number 915113 (ASIN B0DTW4S4MJ). Title and ASIN are included in the review because sometimes reviews get re-sorted and are no longer associated with the correct product. The Legacy Boot Scrubber shipped quickly and was packaged reasonably in a cardboard box. Cardboard corner protectors were present in the cardboard box to help prevent transit damage, nice. The Boot Scraper was sealed in clear plastic along with installation instructions. The Legacy Boot Scraper has side step plates which are attached to the base unit with hinges. When folded up, the side step plates are held in place with magnets. This design makes the Boot Scraper easier to carry and move about. It's possible to use the Legacy Boot Scraper without mounting it by stepping on one step plate with one foot to hold it in place while scraping the other foot. I have a boot scraper from a different brand by my office door which is not mounted. The step-to-hold-while-scraping technique is how I clean the dirt off my shoes before entering my office. This technique will essentially not be possible for me with the Legacy Boot Scraper because the distance between the bristles is too narrow for me to get my footwear between the bristles with just the holding force exerted by the other foot. I measured the two boot scrapers and found that the Legacy has 3-1/2in between the bristles whereas my other boot scraper has 4in between the bristles. I wear a size 11 and sometimes a size 11.5, and this is a very tight fit for the Legacy. I found that if I am wearing "slip-on" types of footwear, I really can't pull through the Legacy from front-to-back as this will pull the footwear from my foot. I can push through back-to-front, but this motion doesn't feel natural. It would be unusual for my footwear to be covered in mud when entering my office. What's more typical is loose dirt, as I must walk across my yard in order to enter my detached office. If your goal is to remove MUD or if you have smaller feet, the Legacy is probably a good fit for you.I mounted the Legacy to the deck by my back door to see how well it worked when mounted. I didn't use the included screws; I selected #10 Stainless Steel Pan Head screws to mount to one 5/4 decking board. Everyone else at my residence has smaller feet than mine, so I figured the Legacy may work well in this location. It rained and snowed most of the week after I mounted the Legacy, so it got a lot of use. I found that even with the Legacy firmly mounted it was more difficult than I'd like. On some days I simply slip on Crocs and I found it impossible to fit these through Legacy even when using the strap because they're just too wide. And yet I'm able to use Crocs with the other boot scraper by my office. The Legacy Boot Scraper is OK, but there's no doubt that I would have much happier if the slot had been a bit wider.

This boot scraping brush is simple, yet remarkably useful and effective. This should help keep me from getting yelled at for tracking mud into the house. It's a simple design that has been around for decades, but it's executed well. The brush bristles are stiff enough to get the dirt and mud off of a boot, but not so stiff that they will tear up the boot. The metal flaps that you stand on to hold the scraper steady have a nice piece of friction tape applied to help you keep a grip on the scraper - but it is certainly preferable to mount this to a section of 2x lumber or a concrete block or slab. The combination of build quality and functionality and price make this a great value.

A must have for any gardener that needs to clean boots or shoes after a day working in the yard. The nylon brushes do a good job of removing dirt, mud, and grime from the sides and bottoms of boots or shoes with minimal effort. The materials are high quality. The metal frame provides a sturdy foundation for the thick nylon brushes that will likely hold up to the wear and tear of many uses. The overall construction feels solid and promises long-term durability. This is replacing a very similar, yet years old boot scrubber, but this one has the added feature of the having side panels that unfold so you can step on them with one boot for stability as you clean the other boot.

This shoe is well made and should last for a long time. The design could use some tweaks, though. As some other reviewers have noted, the space for your shoe is rather narrow and it's very difficult to get into, even for average adult-size footwear and probably not a good idea to force leather shoes and boots into the opening. Also, my husband and I were looking forward to using it by stepping on the side flaps to hold it, but that doesn't work for us; the side not being held down tends to slide around. We had to drill holes in our concrete porch to hold it down, but of course that rules out moving when we need it else where, like when we're working in the back of the house instead of the front. If this one holds up well we'll probably have to get a second one.Having said all that, this product is quite sturdy, appropriately priced, and worth buying, even if you have to maneuver your feet around to get the right amount of contact with the bristles. It's been very helpful so far and I recommend it if you can work with the design issues described above.

Even if you have no where to screw this boot scraper down, you can still use it easy enough by stepping on the plates at the side. It does come with hardware to screw it down into wood. I cleans shoes decently but nothing like a water hose will. But at least most of the dirt, mud, and chicken stuff comes off when it is used. The bristles are tough. For $20 it is a good buy.
