Order this to use with my Roland electronic kit. I wanted to be able to use a hi-hat stand instead of controller pedal. Using this controller with a Roland CY8 on my hi-hat stand is working well so far. My module is a Roland TD-17. It calibrates just like the Roland VH11 hi-hat controller. You can definitely save some money using this over a Roland product and you get pretty much the same performance.

If you're looking at this you know how much better it is playing a real hi-hat (er, top-hat) stand over just using an electronic pedal. It just puts you a bit closer to a real kit (not super close, just closer.) And with the Roland sensors being as scarce and/or expensive it was nice to pick this alternative up and give it a shot. I would call this easily equivalent to my Roland sensor (the one on the left in the pictures.) It's well made, played great with my TD-12 and at almost the exact same size, was a super fast swap in and will now be in my arsenal. It's got a good weight to it also, 35g heavier then my Roland.

It feels like a very solidly built unit. Pretty heavy duty, and comes with an allen wrench too.Unfortunately, it comes with absolutely no instructions - not even a picture of it in use. So for me, at least - it's just a paperweight.

Very robust housing build quality. Nice heft to it amd I like that this Lemon controller is a one piece housing versus my three piece Alesis Strike Pro controller. Less things to keep up with are always nice. The response and consistency seems equal to the Alesis but with a much stiffer feeling spring. Not sure if I like that but and I think it will just take some time to adjust to the faster, stiffer spring response. The reason for the 4 star rating is that there was zero documentation with the controller. I’m pretty sure how the added clutch spacer works that comes in this kit but an explanation would be helpful. There is also a little rubber type spacer with a round head on it that I have no clue what it is intended for.Overall $70 feels like a good price point considering it seems to be a universally compatible trigger and the overall build quality meets expectations.

I am using this with an original 2box DrumIt Five and the newer DrumIt Three. The controller works as expected, though the "Five" requires a separate conversion box because it wasn't originally designed for compatibility with other manufacturers' hi-hat controllers. My biggest issue is that the no spin adapter has too small of a shaft for most hi-hat clutches I have access to. Most of them are too wide to get the no spin adapter attached and one of them is to short to secure the set screw even though the clutch fits into the adapter. Out of 5 clutches I tried, only one of them had the right length and width to attach the no spin adapter securely.

Very happy with this electric/high hat trigger. I'm using this with an older Yamaha 502 drum module. I bought an old kit and it did not come with the hi-hat mechanism. This was plug and play for me, and I was able to make adjustments within the module to get it working well. I've been playing it for a couple days, and still might have to tweak the settings a little bit, but it's definitely worth the small investment. Highly recommend it.

This thing is built well. It's all metal. It's heavy and works pretty well. On the donner, it only does open and close, but that's only because of Donner.Gotta say, it's so much better using a natural hihat. It just feels better. So much better than the floor pedal. So if your looking for a more natural feeling hihat for an electronic set, this is a great option.
