This is an important speaker because it has a rare design that matches exactly what I need. Let me explain. Unlike other small speakers that I plug or bluetooth into my mac, this one truly has a separate volume control and amplifier. All other small speakers I've tried, whether wired or bluetooth, if you use the volume control on the device, that simply changes the volume setting on my computer. So they have a fixed volume and use the computer to change what I hear.But with this one, if I turn its volume up or down using the volume nob on the unit, the volume on the computer does not change but the unit does. This is really important because I often have the volume on my computer set all the way to full volume. And then I get a person on a Youtube video (or Zoom participant) who is talking too low in volume, even for my computer. On most speakers I am stuck. There is no way to go higher. But with this speaker, I can still crank the volume up a LOT. This is really, really, important. I do a lot of Zoom calls with the participants who are hard to hear so I am glad I can turn this up beyond computer max. And in general, I like being able to control the speaker separate from the computer vol control.The sound quality is excellent btw. Surprisingly great sound for the price. Just the right amount of restrained bass, not too boomy, like most external speakers.Note, this next point is critical. You need to be aware of what you are buying and how you plug it in. I bought the less expensive one, the one that comes with a hard-wired headphone jack wire to provide the sound input (plugs into your computer headphone jack) and also comes with a separate hardwired USB wire to provide power (plugs into any powered USB-A source). So with this model, you must use that headphone wire to get sound, which is exactly what I wanted (I have a desktop mac). So no bluetooth and no USB A sound input. Rather, the accompanying USB A cord on this unit is for power and power only, not for sound. So you'll need to plug it in too. Again, you will have to plug both the headphone jack and the USB cord in. Keep that in mind. That worked perfect for my needs but your needs may vary.

I purchased this for my gaming pc. The monitor I had, had no speakers. The color looks great, I love the fact that I have the option to have the speaker on with or without lights on. The sound is great, especially when I crank it it max volume to listen to music. Between the quality, ease of use and value for your money, I totally recommend!!

Hate they put both on a single page combining reviews for 2 models. Bought both for work purposes with Teams/Zoom meetings being the primary usage. Sound quality on both appear to be the same and are great for the cost.Version with USB power only (5 star) - Sound is great for cost. Speaker is powered by a laptop hub so it powers on/off with the computer. No issues after a half year of use.Version with USB power & USB audio (3 stars) - Again the sound is great but some issues with use. The speaker appears as a USB storage drive when USB is connected to the computer. My work computer has some restrictions so this causes warnings about unauthorized devices while the USB is connected. Ok, so I plugged USB to a wall outlet and used an audio cable to connect to the computer instead. Now the speaker is powered but only outputs audio about 50% of the time. Turn it on/off, switch LED on/off, switch audio cable between the speaker input & microphone input... One or a combination of these actions might get the speaker to work.

Got this speaker to replace the one that died. This a pretty good speaker, with good sound. Easy to hear clearly. It is compact, but that works great on my small amount of room on my desk. The colored lights are an added bonus. I recommend this speaker.

My son got in my account and bought this speaker. Very impressed for all the more he paid for it. Sounds good and easy for me to go in at night and turn it down or off. He likes the shades of the lights too. The bed he got has lights and he complains about the color but he says how he likes this speakers colorDef worth the money, would buy again

It’s small and convenient, has good sound. It does the job for the price but it had a static hum to it when you turn it on. So it’s annoying until you start to listen to something. I bought two and it does the same thing on both Xbox and computer. Maybe the usb plug in needs to be plugged into the wall but I though this was for computers.

I just wanted a speaker for general web surfing, not for music. I got frustrated looking through all the choices and what I wanted wasn't immediately available. So I went with this cheap one thinking it's less than $20 and I might be surprised. If not, no big loss. That was accurate, not a big loss. But a loss.I got what I paid for. It kind of works, but it makes Windows 10 act hinky as heck. Windows 10 apparently sees it as a hard drive and gave it the label of (H). Windows shows the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" icon in the taskbar. When I right click that icon and try to select "Open Devices and Printers", Win10 locks up. I can then close explorer or wait. Ended up rebooting.The interfacing with Windows Sound icon is also off. When I have it working, turning up the volume causes drop outs and poor performance. When it settles down and actually works, there isn't much volume at all. Using the Windows sound adjustment seems to confuse everything.I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but wasn't. I just wanted something for everyday PC speaker work, nothing fancy, and this won't even do that.When it's connected, Windows 10 acts really hinky.

I got this to solve a rather unusual problem. My 92 yr old mother is losing her hearing and was having trouble hearing the tv in her room even at full blast. I got this speaker and an extension cable to connect to the earphone plug on her tv and have it placed right next to her bed. It was amazing. She says she can now hear everything and can understand all the dialog. She’s thrilled and so am I.

I wasn't expecting a lot with the low price tag, but man the quality of the speakers is terrible. Totally fine for doing Zoom calls, but you can forget about listening to music or gaming.
