This Standard Mount Adapter is a great solution for using EF/EF-S lenses on Canon EOS R series cameras. It delivers fast auto-focus, precise aperture control, and effective image stabilization. The dust and water-resistant seal adds durability, and the solid metal construction feels premium. At just 145g, it’s lightweight and easy to carry, while the built-in tripod mount is a practical addition. EXIF data transmission works flawlessly too. Highly recommended for seamless compatibility!

The adapter feels and looks to be good quality. The fit was a really good fit and worked seamlessly with my lens.

I was on the fence about what adapter to get to go with my R7 camera. Canon branded ones are very expensive. Some of the 3rd party ones have reviews mentioning poor fit or quality, or in the case of the Neewer, it drains your battery while connected, even if your camera is off. I decided to go with this one as most of the complaints were about it being too tight, rather than too loose. That sounds preferred to me. The battery concerns on the Neewer steered me away from any model that had the control ring as it seems like any of those could have some sort of firmware problem causing that kind of bad behavior. This adapter feels well built. It is slightly stiff to turn, but to me it feels like it is just a result of a gasket compressing, which should be a good thing, indicating it is weather sealing well. Every lens I tried it with worked- the Canon 17-40mm F4L, 100-400mm f4-5.6L (mark I), Tamron 28-75 XR Di f2.8, Canon 100mm F2.8L Macro. All in all 5 stars. Much better deal than the overpriced Canon models.UPDATE: I had a chance to use this a bit more with the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 and got mixed results. A lot of the images were soft, and I can't tell why. It generally appears to be motion blurring problems. This isn't a stabilized lens, but based on focal length and shutter speed it would appear that the in-body stabilization is not working with this combo of lens and adapter, or else it is not working well. I was mostly shooting at 1/160 and 1/200 which shouldn't be too hard to get sharp photos handheld at 28mm. I compared one scene that I shot with the Tamron at 28mm handheld at 1/60s and with the new Sigma 10-18mm f/2.8 RF (without adapter) at 14mm 1/80s and it was a night and day difference. The Tamron/adapter shot was super soft and the Sigma was tack sharp. Neither of these lenses are stabilized. As I don't know if this is a lens problem, adapter problem or camera problem, I am not taking a star off for now. As I experiment more, maybe I will be able to narrow down what the problem is or see if I have similar results with other lenses. For now, beware if you plan to use this adapter/lens combo.

This adapter works great. The lens mount is a bit tight. Other than that, it works the same as the Canon brand, which I own one as well. Functionally, I could not tell the difference.

Feels like I have to turn it a little too hard to get it in place, but it does the job

The adapter works perfectly fine in my Canon R50 with my EF 50 mm lens. The only issue but it was more for the aesthetic than functionality is a weird thing that the adapter has to hold into something but is removable so it’s okay. Overall I am happy with the product.

I bought an inexpensive EF lense, not knowing it would not fit and this adapter saved the day. It’s a great fit and simple to use.

Definitely could be smoother to use but works as expected otherwise. Just a bit clunky/sticky to put on and take off. It also has a large bit that keeps the camera from being able to sit as it should which is a bit annoying and isn’t evident in the pictures.
