This paper was specially developed and manufactured in Germany with a smooth and particularly low-friction finish -- Quality since 1917
Whether you prefer to write with a marker, fountain pen or brush pen – the 120 g/m² paper is the perfect writing surface for a variety of writing instruments. During the milling process, the paper received a smooth and particularly low-friction finish. It allows your pen to glide across the page with a minimum of wear and provides a pleasantly flowing writing sensation. The ink does not bleed into the paper, but retains its clear contour. By adding the proper fillers, the paper has comparatively low transparency: writing does not shine through to the other side. The paper was specially developed and manufactured in Germany.
The 120g Edition notebooks are also equipped with all the signature LEUCHTTURM1917 details, such as table of contents, numbered pages, a pocket in the end cover and a set of stickers.

This journal feels about how you would expect. It feels sturdy, the color is vibrant, and with how many pages it contains, it has a satisfying heft to it. The paper on the inside is smooth and I don't foresee any problems with any pens I typically write with. The back of the journal has a paper pocket slightly smaller than the journal itself. An added bonus that I did not expect were archival stickers included, including one that you can place on the spine of the journal. That was a nice addition :)Keep in mind the weight of the paper. I disagree that this is "heavyweight" - in fact, it's barely any different in thickness to copy paper. Copy paper is usually 90-120gsm, and this product is 120gsm. I was aware of this when buying due to experience in drawing, and some pens are bound to bleed through this paper. Do not buy this paper if you're expecting to be able to use substantial amounts of ink. There are other journals better equipped for that.Overall, I'm extremely pleased with it. It's a nice product that feels premium quality.

I've used fountain pens, markers, highlighters, and cheap ballpoint pens, and they all perform beautifully on this nice heavyweight paper. Absolutely zero ink showing through from the other side, so if you're like me and find that annoying, this is the perfect solution. It's the same paper that's used in the Bullet Journal notebooks from LEUCHTTURM1917, but without the bujo extras. For what it's worth, I have two of the Bullet Journal notebooks and love them as well, but I don't always need those features depending on my use. Only one thing could be improved - more color options.

This is my first Leuchturm journal and I LOVE it! The quality of the paper is outstanding. I'm using it for a Reading Journal, so haven't tried any watercolor or markers in it yet, but regular gel pen and marker does not bleed through. The pages are velvety soft and thick. I love that the pages are numbered oh so lightly and that there are so many pages. I am definitely able to contain 2 years in 1 journal - maybe even 3 years! Highly recommend!

This is an excellent notebook for fountain pens. The nib just glides, but the ink takes, on high-quality paper. Most importantly, the paper does not blot or bleed ink through to the other side. I use a medium nib. This brand is a keeper for me. Also, ALL pages lie fully flat - they’re all useable.

Ich liebe diese Bücher mit dem stärkeren Papier. Ich nutze es als Bullet Journal und wenn die Farben nicht durchbluten ist das einfach angenehmer. Plus, dass das Schreiben auf diesem Papier sich sehr gut anfühlt. Ich hab schon mehrere Farben..

LOVE LOVE LOVE all the Leuchtturm Products.The 120 gsm is beautiful just was a little too much for my needs. Was looking for something lighter as a camping journal. Ordered the softcover one and hopefully that will be perfect.FYIIf you need to return a product you have to deal with Leuchtturm and pay for the return shipping.
