Our lamp’s pull chain broke. I didn’t know it was fixable, but I found this replacement online, and Amazon also has it. I had no idea how to replace it, but I googled it and found a video. It took about 20-30 minutes to do it.It’s much cheaper to replace the part instead of buying a new lamp. The pull chain works smoother than the original one. It’s perfect.

The Leviton 19980-M was not quite an exact replica of the original part, but it worked very well for me. I was happy to find it on Amazon.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am an ER nurse with a healthy fear of electricity. Also, I do not know anything about the wiring side of DIY. After asking my husband for four years to fix one of a pair of lamps, I did a quick Amazon search and found this Leviton replacement base and the Amazon how-to video. Item arrived in good condition. Pull cord was a little shorter than the original broken unit, but still worked. The new Leviton unit did not have the wires colored silver and gold, as in the video. But, a quick google search tells me that the ribbed wire is the neutral or silver wire, so I figured out which one to connect. I am super proud that I could successfully do this myself. I did find that the socket was a little misshapen but the metal is malleable enough that I could gently encourage the lightbulb into the socket. So glad to have the matching lamps working again.

I love my antique bronze, bridge arm lamp. I was saddened when the pull cord socket broke. After attempting to fix it myself, I decided a new part would be far easier. I was quite correct.Inexpensive, shipped quickly, and very fast and easy installation. Took about 5 mins, and my wife had her reading lamp back in action. Very happy wife, definitely makes very happy life!Probably, the only downside is that the guide for the pull chain is aluminum (tin?). I'd have preferred it to be brass colored, but I was fully aware of the color prior to purchase. (So, not any fault if the product or seller.)Will definitely purchase from this seller again, as well as more lamp parts. (I enjoy repairing/restoring vintage or antique lamps.)

Easy to install with 2 wires, pull chain super easy to pull. Only thing is the pull chain end ball is very small to get a grip… I can add something to make it a bigger handle at the end to pull. Overall great product and fix was simple.

The electrical connection screws were over-tightened when received and extremely difficult to loosen which resulted in distortion of the screw driver slot. In addition the screws were very short which makes the connection difficult.The item was purchase as a replacement switch for 2-piece porcelain ceiling fixture but the metal bulb socket thread did not match the porcelain thread so the item could not be used.
