I bought these for paper crafts. There are times when a nice torn edge is needed. I am hoping it works like a deckle trimmer. I like that I have options too since all 3 rulers have different edges. I have not used them yet but they feel sturdy and should work fine. If not, I will edit my review.

It's a good product and performs well. I should have paid closer attention to size. Not long enough for my use.

The ruler itself is very lightweight and flexible ("flimsy"). I think if it was a little heavier and stiffer that it might make a better edge to tear against.I tried to edge a piece of color printer paper, and it mostly just tore away away from the ruler in a way that looks like I made a successful attempt to just tear a straight line by hand. The page tore to the design in two places only.I purchased this to edge colored paper to be stacked with the rough edges of homemade paper. It may work as imagined with some practice, but I think it would have been more of an assist if the ruler had more weight and stiffness to help hold the paper.Tearing against the ruler with the smooth back (of the ruler) away from the paper seems to give a better result, but not by much.

These are small, and you cannot tear watercolor paper with them.They would work on thinner paper well.
