Been using HW store o-rings, but they wear out after a season. They likely barely fit right. This is the right stuff for the job, works great, and I get the clip too

You get enough O-rings to replace them twice. You even get a new C-clip.Look up your hose reel on Liberty Garden's web site first, to make sure you get the correct kit.These O-rings stopped the leak.When you put the new O-rings on, you can roll them to the groove on the swivel shaft, yes they are supposed to be a tight fit, just use your fingers to push and roll them.Then you press the piece the hose attaches to back on the swivel shaft. Press it on until you see the groove for the C-clip. You will need to press very firmly. Once on, put the C-clip on.Buy a pair of C-clip pliers, this will make it easier to remove the C-clip and put it back on.

The o-rings on my hose reel had dried out and water was spraying out of the fitting before I installed this kit. While the leak is now stopped, the rubber o rings are so new and stiff that the fitting which connects the feed hose now rotates with the reel instead of allowing the fitting to stay in one location. This is difficult because it will cause the hose to kink, but hopefully as the o-ring ages the issue will resolve itself. Overall I'm satisfied because the leak is gone.

This is a good value since you get three sets of rings. I was able to repair my hose reel in 2-3 minutes and it's worked great since. It helps to put dishwashing soap on the rings when putting it back together to avoid tearing the rings.

When the O-rings wore out from the original hose reel purchase, I went to a local hardware store and bought O-rings that were the same outer diameter. Unfortunately the O-rings I bought had a slightly thicker body than the original. Very difficult to detect with the eye. But it was difficult to turn the hose reel.I finally researched these from Liberty Garden products. These fit perfectly and the hose reel rolls smoothly with no leaks.
