Such an amazing deal. It is SO nice not to have to press new races in/out...comes out with it all. Super easy install and work well. I do have to dial up my brake controller pretty high to get them to work right, but it is within range and they do work well. It is possible I need to readjust the shoes now that they have settled in...maybe I didn't adjust them tightly enough. Overall I am thrilled and have recommended to all my buddies. I converted my thrust brakes on my boat trailer to these....love it.

Saw the review about the pads being covered in oil and about needing the nuts for the back.Yes, these did not come with new mounting nuts. I just used the old ones. Not sure why this is a big deal unless some brake assemblies have a different thread pitch.There was not one hint of oil on the pads of any of the 4 assemblies that I received.Everything was packaged and shipped without damage which is surprising considering the weight of these parts.From what I can tell these assemblies were of great quality. No paint chipping, everything was adjusted properly from the factory, all the parts were shipped. I guess everything one should expect.Both outer races were installed on all the hubs and installing the main cap and seal was required. I understand why these were installed and would prefer them not to be installed as it makes packing the bearings way easier.Make sure you use high temp break and bearing grease. I got my grease from O'Reilly's.Generally, I am happy with this purchase. I don't have any experience with the Dexter branded assemblies. These are doing everything I want them to do so for half the price, I'm happy.Tools needed: 11/16 box end, hammer, grease gun, flat head, wire splices, cotter pins, a lot of paper towels, gloves, adjustable pliers, regular pliers, breaker bar to get lugs off, Razer blade, compressed air, degreaser, brake clean, chunk of wood to help seat main cap and seal

Ordered the kit thinking I would save some money . However when I opened the boxes two of the backing plates were missing bolts. And 2 seals contacted company got no reply. So returned they only sent 1 shipping label when it came in four boxes so had to buy a box . $20.00 Then returned and they charged me a 20% restocking fee . Even though clearly was defective from them they still charged me $87.00 so I was out $100 in total .. worse costumer service ever and I hope this help someone . The other people complain that there were no nuts included that's not a problem can get them at any hardware store .however the bolts in the backing plates are drove in and need to be flush mounted ... poor quality and poor service . Do not buy this kit or from this company .

I had to replace both sets on a work trailer. They’d been used up pretty bad and were throwing codes when you hooked up to a vehicle.These installed just like oem and were able to wire into existing easily. We added a little more security by using better connectors and added a few clips to keep wires away from tires etc..I would purchase these again as they came packaged well and shipped timely also!

For those who can’t understand why it’s such a big deal about this kit not supplying backing plate mounting nuts, picture this. You have an old tandem axle trailer. All four brake assemblies need to be replaced. You order this kit and find them to be good quality and perfect fit for a 3500 pound axle with ten inch hub (though the FedEx person was apparently upset delivering four heavy boxes and threw them in my driveway breaking open the boxes).As I said, the trailer is old. That means that the original mounting nuts are rusted to the mounting stud. Try a hammer, an impact wrench, or some other form of leverage and you’ll notice the mounting studs spinning. Now you’re left with hours of grinding studs off the mounting plate and no old nuts to use. Trips to two auto parts stores and two hardware stores netted about six M12x1.75 nuts. You have sixteen nuts on the tandem axles. If you’re not lucky, you’ll be waiting for another Amazon delivery just to move the trailer out of your driveway. They supply lug nuts with this kit, (they are available everywhere and original ones could be used), but not mounting nuts. They should either supply the mounting nuts or clearly state that the mounting nuts should be purchased separately.That’s why not supplying mounting nuts is a big deal.

Nice Quality except for the serrated bolts on the backing plate. Six of them were out of the backing plate and four of them did not want to hold when I put them back in. The bolts should be spot welded from the factory so they don't fall out!
