The assembly instructions are worthless. Don't try reading them just look at the pictures to try to follow the sequence. Once assembled, it a very nice looking, sturdy piece. Looks good with an décor and can be stained or painted to better fit if necessary. If you can build models as a kid or Legos from pictures you can do this and get the reward of a nice looking and functional piece when done.

WITHIN ONE MONTH THE SEAT OF THIS CHIR CRACKED INTO TWO PIECES. THE FLAW IN DESIGN IS THAT THE SEAT PORTIOIN IS SUSPENDED OVER A THR JOINT OF THE HINGE CAUSING THE WOODEN SEAT TO BREAK INTO PORTION. THE BREAK OCCURRED WITHOUT ANYTHING RESTING ON THE SEAT. THE ENTIRE CHAIR IS UNSTEADY AND CANNOT BE RELIED UPON TO SUPORT MORE THAN APPROXIMATELY 150 POUNDS

A great chair ladder bit no instructions makes it a 3 star not 5!!! How hard would it be to add instructions???
