I mean seriously nice product but this was an addition to a previous system and would have looked amazing if it was just black, but for the price I still can't give anything less then 5 stars for its wiegand capability still do plan to buy again just not as an addition.

For the price, this is okay as a standalone keypad that directly controls the door relays. However, a standalone keypad is not a great idea, since then anyone can dismantle the keypad and directly drive your electric lock or strike.I was hoping to use it just as one of several keypads attached to a central access control system, and for this it has two limitations. First, the major limitation is that it can only support 4-digit pins. Instead of reporting individual weigand key press events, it reports the entire 4 digit pin as a virtual tag scan. You can set 6 digit pins, but it only reports the last four digits. This goes for standalone mode, too--you effectively only have 4 digit pins, and they can't start with 0. The second more minor limitation is that since it has some internal idea of what correct PINs are, if you ignore the programming and process the virtual tag scans on a central controller, it provides a two-beep feedback like you've entered an invalid code even when you have entered the correct code (since I don't plan to program correct codes into the keypad). There are a couple of other features that feel not super well thought out for the standalone use case. It comes with two 125kHz cards that you can program as add "admin add card" and "admin delete card." You scan the admin add card and the scan other cards you want to add--which is useful. But then you can scan the delete card and scan a card you want to delete, but since usually you want to delete lost cards, this isn't super useful. You can still delete them from the keypad. Another weird thing is that you reset the keypad by pressing the * key while turning it on. That resets the 6-digit master pin (default: 777777) and allows you to scan new add and delete cards (unless you keep * pressed for 10 seconds, then there are no add and delete cards). This means if there's a power outage, someone can reset the reader without even opening it.For less than $15, I'm not going to complain too much, though. If you want a standalone system with 4-digit pins for casual security, this product seems useful.
