I'm torn, I love all things to do with lightsabers and the world they exist in, and I have to admit the build quality of the hilt is second to none. The craftsmanship is excellent and I love that it's metal and not cheap plastic. However, all that being said, the instructions that came with the lightsaber are very poorly written, they make little to no sense in places that matter pertaining to operation. Operation of the blade is so difficult to figure out with it's one button for everything system. This does not execute well at all. The only colors I seem to be able to get are Blue, Green, or a color cycle effect. I can't get a solid purple, a solid yellow, or a solid Red. Also when you turn the music on, the only way of turning it back off appears to be powering down the lightsaber completely.There appear to be other effects and lighting patterns, but trying to navigate to them is a misnomer, there is no clear way to do it. The instructions say to twist the hilt to change the sound font? none of this works. The electronics inside this hilt are poorly designed, also the sound quality has a bit of static to it.The effects that do work, like when you hit something with the blade are quite good, as is the noise it makes when you wave it around. It sounds like it does in the movies.Charging is easy you just unscrew the base and plug in the included USB C charging cable, however, It does not come with a power brick.Are far as an item to display goes or for cosplay, this is a very cool looking lightsaber. But for 79.99 which is the price it is listed for at time of my review, I feel it offers just okay value for money. At this price point I'd expect it to work better and to have better written instructions. The whole one button for everything does not work well at all. Overall I was a little. This lightsaber is still going to look nice as a display piece on my shelf.

I was impressed by the build quality of this lightsaber. The handle is metal and feels heavy and sturdy in the hand, and the balance when you have the blade piece attached is ideal. I found the controls tough to adjust to with it being a single button, but soon figured out the button press sequences to change blade color and sound effect volume.The lighting of the blade is bright at the hilt and and the tip end, but fades a little in the middle portion of the blade, but does not distract from the enjoyment of the lightsaber. I was most impressed with the sound effects that this thing produces, from the whoosh of turning it on, the background hum of the blade. The swooshing effect when you swing it, and the impact sound when you hit something. I wanted to go get my bathrobe and start talking about using the force.The directions described using movements to operate certain features of the lightsaber. I was able to turn it on with a swing, and occasionally turn it on and off with a twist of the wrist. but the other functions I am yet to master.One very slight drawback, around the base which unscrews to access the USB port there was still a little burring which caught my finger a few times. I was able to gently file them down without any damage but it could have snagged a costume and pulled a thread if I hadn't noticed it.Overall I am enjoying playing with this lightsaber although playing may not be the word to use. I am not sure that this should be considered a toy so much as a costume prop or a collectible for fans of the movies to enjoy.

This Lightsaber is so cool! This is perfect for the sci-fi fan in your life. Got this one for my brother who loves Star Wars, and he immediately recognized the character this lightsaber was for and was really impressed by the quality of the build. It is a really great saber, a cut above the standard variety. Needless to say, he was over the moon excited about this gift!

Basically just though this would be cool to put in my media room.This comes well packaged in a long cardboard box to accommodate the "blade". The hilt is very well made. It is metal, and weighty. The look is similar to Luke's green lightsaber, but isn't an exact replica. The plastic tube that is the blade attaches with a set screw. It holds pretty well for just swinging it around, but not sure how well it would hold up to hard hitting. Probably fine for a cosplay fight though. The hilt itself is easy to grip and the whole thing actually swings pretty well.There are a number of different options for this, including color, pulsating, and various sounds. Basically its a cool, fun lightsaber. The hilt will probably last forever, as this is not a cheap plastic toy.
