Man, this thing is strong. and the adjustments are awesome. No matter what grade of ground you are on, this thing will be straight with what ever kind of weight is on it. Great buy!

Needed a quality tall and light stand for the ubiquitous sports parent camera setup at games. This fit the bill nicely. Hinges and joints all seem quality and lock up with minimal wiggle etc. Time will tell on durability but so far so good.

This thing is awesome. I have to admit, I got it because the red with the carbon fiber looks pretty cool and I wanted to see how the extended legs would help with uneven surfaces. But when I started using it I was blown away by the quality. Even the case is nice. The movement is very smooth all around. The twist locks are very solid and don't require a ton of twist like some other twist lock tripods I have used. I really like the feature that you can use part of it as a boom. It is very light, but the trade-off with the carbon fiber is that there is some flex to it. Not a huge deal if you have a relatively light mic on the end.The telescoping legs are a really nice feature. This combined with the weight make it the ideal field stand. I also really like the beefy center ring. And the center hook works well and feels solid. And I know this is a small personal preference of mine, but I appreciate the minimal branding.I have really enjoyed using this and have even attached a ball head to it and taken it out as my primary tripod once just to see how that would go. It was great and felt very secure because of the large and stable footprint. But as a tripod I had to watch that I did not extend it to be too high since again, the carbon fiber has a little flex to it.

This light stand reminds me much of my camera tripods with just one less section to deploy at the base. It is very sturdy and can get a remarkable span for extra support if needed. Because it's made of carbon fiber, it is also very light and portable. The case they give you to transport it is of perfect size and really makes this an excellent choice for your lighting setups. All of my twist locks (6 in total) are fully functional while also having rubber stoppers to help soften the blow if you were to not tighten a section all the way down once your light is up top. It's even got an easy to reverse 1/4-20" to 3/8" screw for attaching whatever your device needs. I really do like this light stand for travel and just all around use. Highly recommend it!

Honestly surprised by the quality of this and at a reasonable price.Fairly light and nice and compact. Super easy and intuitive setup. Yes, you can adjust the legs to different heights (not sure what the other reviewer was talking about) and it shows that in the picture.Yes, you can raise the center section to 102", but I personally don't trust it up that high. I guess if you want to throw a GoPro up there it would be fine, but I wouldn't put a light up there. I have mounted lights and my softbox on it at around 6' and it works great though. The bag it comes in is decent, but the zipper could use some work. It works, but it feels like it will break soon. That being said, it doesn't really need a bag.

I think the worst thing I could say about this stand is that I would not trust it for large soft boxes or heavy lights, but it's not really meant for that, anyway. The purpose of this stand is portability, light weight, and long reach. It folds up very small and weighs less than the speedlight I like to attach to it. That can make it top-heavy, which makes the bottom hook a welcome feature, as I can use any number of things as weight for added stability. This also gets a LOT taller than my other stands, all of which are smaller and much heavier. When I started to get into photography in 2010, carbon fiber was used less and usually cost upwards of several hundred dollars. I am delighted that tools like this have become readily available and inexpensive, while also improving in quality.

This light stand was a joy to use and pretty surprising to be honest. It packs down really small but when needed can get pretty tall and also work on uneven ground. I was a little concerned with the thinner than normal frame compared to some of the sturdier C-stands and other light stands I used but for basic lights with a reflector or Strobist style speedlight shooting this thing is perfectly fine. I wouldn't put a 60 inch octobox on this or anything. Not that it matters a lot, but this light stand is very beautiful looking. It reminds me of a sports card and just carries a beautiful red/black/carbon fiber aesthetic that you may or may not like. The carbon fiber actually makes a big difference when it comes to weight. This thing packs down really small for how tall it can get. It's really not just awesome but honestly probably the evolution needed for portable anywhere you go lightstands. Not only does the center column go up a respectable height, you can also increase the length of the legs even taller, which is very unique and pretty awesome. The only thing that's limited compared to using something like a tripod as a light stand is the legs aren't independent to each other so you can't really do extreme creative setups such as having the center column tilted off axis while still having full support with the legs and a counter weight.Saying that I wouldn't get 4 of these for a studio personally. Not that it wouldn't be useful, but I would just get some nice heavy duty light stands or c-stands. Where this thing shines is in the field shooting where you want to deal with less weight, have flexibility to adjust to the terrain, and look good doing it.This will be the new on field single light support solution for me now over a 17 year old Giotto's center twist light stand that's older than my daughter. It will be odd retiring that one but this thing is really incredible.
