My grandchildren love this light table. I work at my drafting table often and they like to pretend they are working like nanny. They are getting better at tracing and coloring which is great for dexterity. I haven’t tried the sand yet since I’m really not crazy about cleaning up sand off my new floors. I’ll wait until they’re a little older so I can put down plastic and let them play.

The light table itself is nice. The size is right for one child, maybe 2 children if they are good at sharing space. I loved the long cord so it could be plugged into an outlet and the child doesn't have to sit like right next to the outlet. The settings on the light table were very pretty and easy to change using the button on the cord. The brightness and colors of the light were adjustable with the button. The biggest reason I am giving 3 stars is that the title of the product says light table manipulatives and shows a child playing with other little block manipulatives on the table. When the product arrived i was surprised to find only 2 bags of very fine brown sand included with the light table, as well as some cool picture cards with step by step how to draw. The sand was the only manipulative included and it is pretty messy. It is so fine that it sticks to everything, the lip on the table is high enough to keep most of it in but it is just going to get all over the place no matter what you do. I used magnatiles as a manipulative at first but inevitably my kids wanted the sand. Just be aware that the picture is not what is included, you will need your own additional manipulatives if you want to avoid the sand
