I looked at this product previously, read some pretty harsh reviews which have since all vanished(??). I really liked the looks of the photo so I nordered it anyhow. I was totally impressed with it! I calibrated the barometer using the instructions and tool provided, it keeps very accurate pressure readings, the temperature also seems accurate. Honestly, it looks like something that should cost much, much more. I would buy this again, I think it is a great value.

The one thing I do not like about this is that the needle mechanism has too much "stiction". This means you need to tap it to get the needle to move to its true reading, a feature I would rather not have. Otherwise, it is fine. It is attractive, it has a range that makes sense (I can hardly see the use of a barometer that goes down to 26" when most of the time, it is between 29 and 31"). This is calibrated mostly in that range. The humidity and temperature gauges are a plus, and they are fairly accurate.

I like it, I love it.I was trying to get one last yr. but allways sold out for the one I wanted at my price, now I have the one I wanted and a larger diameter, I think.But make sure Lily you check that the second gold hand does not hit the barometer hand.No biggy to me, I can take it apart and fix that, and other than that it works perfect.Yaaa! hooo! now I know when to go fishing and if I should venture out on a bad day with low pressure present.Wish I could buy a nice huge one because of my sight, and the gold rolling around in my pocket that I don't have.I guess I had better go to the eye doctor and get checked out again.I have always been into the weather Like my Dad was, now I can be.Thanks for the deal Lily.May God bless you and your Family.Later Sid

This was to be a "preliminary review" but went further. Note: degrees are in F. Out of the larger box was barometer in its own box. First thing, noticed barometer box was punctured, though larger box was not. Happened before it was put in larger box. Unit appeared undamaged but gauges could have been "jarred" by impact. Nice finish, appears to be resin with cherry-like color. Thermometer: after being in house overnight, thermometer ranged from 74 deg. to 79 deg. when actual temp has been steady at 71 deg. Hygrometer: began at 50% and has dropped to 46% when relative humidity in area was 96%. Barometer: Wow. Pressure in area began at 30.05 per local weather. Barometer was reading 29.10. That difference is about 90 degrees of the total circumference of the dial of 360 degrees. A long, long way off. Had no trouble resetting, tapped to settle pointer. Hours later barometer read 29.98 to actual of 30.01, not too bad. Came w/ instructions to reset Hygrometer however, there is no screw on back of unit for hygrometer. I suppose it requires removing small door on back of unit, but I'm not messing with that at this time. I may return hoping for more accuracy in next one but that is a crap shoot. This unit is twice the price of most others. I was hoping it would be twice as good. Disappointing. Rated a 2 for nice looking cabinet. This was to be a gift, and as such I wanted one which could hang, and not one that appears to be an "insert". A shame I could not find a U.S. manufacturer. Perhaps there are some German ones floating around. I may also consult vendor about resetting hygrometer. Later in day unit read 29.85; actual was 29.93. Yep, it's raining.

Got my Barometer yesterday, set it up. This morning it does not register the change. Called the distributor, answer a couple of questions and they are sending a replacement. Point of the story, things happen and what makes things of value is if the company stands behind it. No hesitation in their part. Will rate customer service 5 stars, will follow up with product quality latter when I have something to report. Thanks. Oscar RamerBarometer part II. Got the replacement barometer today, it works just fine. As far as I am concern, the malfunctioning unit was a hiccup. Would I recommend the unit, yes. Would I recommend the company, yes. I have many weather instruments. This one is one of the better ones I have. I know customers have had problems with this, but I must have been one of the lucky ones to receive a beautiful piece that came undamaged and quickly. Looks great in the bedroom and it seems to be accurate.

The barometer is beautiful but is calibrated as mmhg and the weather channels are kpa so it is time consuming to convert and try to predict my migraines which is why I purchased the product.
