It's a a third (different sizes) version I bought. This 42" one, as well as the smaller 29" are not hard cases, but are more than ok for me. I use it to transport relatively heavy telescopes (up to 40lbs) - in the car only. Not good for registered luggage, of course.Two long walls have a hard flexible shell + soft foam inside under the zipper. You can even add some soft foam (up to 1/2" thick) under the zipper if you want it to be softer inside. No hard bottom, although you can put something there and cover with the soft divider that comes with the bag. Same goes with the front and back sides.Anyway, it's not the cheapest bag, but for this price you get rather versatile bag which you can improve if you need.Quality - good enough, the pool string zipper may be a weak part.As I mentioned, I use it to carry ~40 lbs telescope. Feels safe for me. I have similar experience with a smaller (29") LimoStudio bag for 3-4 years already.BTW, the Title of the 42" bag wrongly has it as 36" - it is 42", as in the description.

This is a sturdy carrier and it is roomy. I have a lot of equipment to carry with me when I go out on a photo shoot and I can fit everything in it with room to spare except my backdrop frame, I have a lg one of that, thats in its own carrier. But this is sturdy and lightweight. Highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed.

DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!! PIECE OF CRAP, WASTE OF MONEY, WASTE OF RESOURCES. I was so excited to have a smaller bag to carry my studio equipment with me. First I realized it had no shoulder strap which was incredibly uncomfortable. My fault for not paying better attention, but with something like this a shoulder strap should be a given. The first time I unzipped it and the zipper immediately broke. This is the worst quality item and it should not even be on the market it is such a piece of crap. I live on a small island in the Caribbean, I have wasted money on shipping and customs fees, have no way of returning it and have a nylon piece of crap that is going straight to the landfill never being used and never to decompose. THIS PRODUCT IS WORTHLESS.

Purchased this case as a Christmas gift to be used for carrying a card game from house to house. It will be an excellent way to transport the cards safely. We were very pleased with the quality. I highly recommend.

REVISED: Seller was quick to reply and replace product. Replacement seems fine as of now, checked the areas that were defective on the original purchase. So hopefully it was just a defective item. Appreciate the quality support.Used it ONE TIME. In less than 3 weeks the material was pulling away on the inside as well as the handle coming apart. We are a professional media company and this is the quickest we've had something like this happen, let alone at all..

I actually love this thing. I didn’t think I would. It’s just tall enough for my cheapie light stands to fit in along with some lighting equipment for my videography business. It’s sturdy and feels pretty decent all around. There are little divider Velcro things inside, similar to what you find in a camera case or backpack.If anything fails on this thing, I expect the zippers to fail first. They’re not bad, but certainly not great.Overall this case is wonderful.

I was hoping for the best but I was disappointed when I saw this bag. The workmanship and quality isn't there and it's over priced (for what it is). If your an amateur photographer/videographer you might get away with using this infrequently but I would suggest spend a little bit more and get a better bag.
