This just works! Repairs are strong and don't show up unless you really look. On old thin paper it pretty much disappeared. Follow directions for best results.

It becomes almost invisible. You can tell that it's there when you rub your finger across the page and see it but it not obviously noticeable. Been holding up to my constant turning of pages. The thickness isn't too bad. It's easy to use once you figure out how to get it separated from the backing. Works wonderfully in my study Bible.

I was so heartsick when I tore a page! I really did not know what to do. I thought of regular tape, then I remembered seeing old tape yellow, harden, and fall off; leaving the original tear still a problem. Then I found this archival tape online. I am so glad I did!!!Pros:* First, the tape did it's job. The tear is repaired well.* The tape is thin like a scripture page. The weights match.* The end result is perfect! I can't see the tear unless I look for it. I can't even see the tape on the page!Cons:* It is difficult to tear the backing off because the tape is thin.* The tape rolls up sticking to itself as you tear the backing off. We had to have someone hold the tear shut while someone else put the end of the tape down while pulling on the tape in order to cover the entire tear. A two-person job. But, it really worked well!* There are yellow dots of glue, as other reviews have mentioned, I think to hold the circle of tape to itself in shipping. I really didn't care because I just needed a few inches of clean tape.I would purchase this again!!!

It's so hard to separate the pieces that I almost give up each time I start. I guess I was hoping for more transparency when placed on comics. It's so obvious that you're using this stuff on a golden age comic especially. I'm almost tempted to use normal clear tape instead so I don't have to see that obvious color difference. I'm not sure if CGC will like either one anyway but I don't grade my books

Purchased a 1930's movie poster that was very brittle and had cracks and tears in the paper. I googled the proper way to repair these issues and it strongly suggested this archival tape. I purchased a roll and it worked wonderfully. My only advise is that you need to use this on the back side only despite that after using a credit card or other burnishing tool, it does not make this tape 100% invisible. My poster had lots of graphics and color and I inadvertently used a piece of tape on the face of the poster at the top. Now, I'm the only one that will notice it since now the poster is matted and framed professionally, but at a certain angle, if you look closely, you can see that piece of tape! Otherwise, all of the rips and cracks in the paper where I had to use tweezers to piece in those spots and use this archival tape, they are perfect! You can hardly see where the blemishes are! Do your work in good lighting since you have to peel the backing from the tape and it is very very thin. Happy with the product. Have some left to do another repair job too.

Okay for someone who is not serious about book binding and repair and just wants to fix some pages functionally. this is basically tape with a backing that peels off - but a little better than scotch tape. It has a sheen to it so repairs are still quite visible

I used this to help me with book conservation of old 1800s bibles and early 20th century books

I am loving this tape very much, but I have to take it easy in using it because it is not quite enough and it's kind of expensive.
